CAT 240-9493 is a sealed bearing cap assembly designed by Caterpillar for engine camshaft ends and hydraulic pump drive shaft ends. It integrates an end cap, a skeleton oil seal, and a locating pin. Its core functions are axial positioning, radial dust prevention, and leak-proof sealing. It is suitable for medium-speed rotating shaft end applications. The following is complete technical and application information for Cat® Parts.

Key Dimensions
Outer Diameter 130mm, Inner Diameter 65mm, Total Thickness 25mm, Mounting Hole Spacing 80mm diameter, oil seal lip diameter 65mm, weight approximately 1.2kg, installation clearance 0.03-0.08mm. Installation and Maintenance Specifications (Operating Points)
Preparation before installation: Clean the mounting surface and shaft end, removing burrs and oil stains; check for any damage to the oil seal and bending of the locating pin; measure the clearance between the shaft end and the oil seal lip to 0.03-0.05mm to ensure a proper fit.
Installation steps: Apply grease to the oil seal lip, use the locating pin to position the assembly, and symmetrically tighten the M8×20 bolts + flat/spring washers to 22-25 N·m; check for a tight fit and no leakage.
Maintenance and replacement: Check for leaks every 500 hours, replace the oil seal every 2000 hours; replacement requires complete assembly disassembly, do not replace the oil seal individually (to avoid deviation and leakage).
