CAT 130-1985 is a 14mm thick carbon steel wear-resistant sleeve used by Caterpillar for components such as engines and transmissions. Its core functions are shaft positioning, wear compensation, and clearance adjustment. It is suitable for shaft-bore protection under heavy-duty conditions and is compatible with Cat 3304/3306 engines, 140H graders, 950H loaders, and other models. Below are precise technical parameters, compatibility, and application information.
Core Parameters (Precise Version)
Project Details
Basic Attributes
Model 130-1985, 14mm thick steel straight sleeve, used for journal protection, bearing positioning, or bushing clearance compensation. Suitable for mineral oil/synthetic lubricants. 1-4 sets per unit. Commonly used in engine camshafts, gearbox input shafts, differential half-shafts, etc.
Compatible Models: Cat 3304/3306 engines, 140H graders, 950H/966H loaders, 320D/323D excavators. Compatible with the transmission and power systems of Cat 330D and other models on the same platform.
Material and Process: Body: 45# carbon steel (quenched and tempered HB240-280), surface hardened HRC58-62 (hardened layer depth 2-3mm), surface galvanized passivation (salt spray test ≥96 hours), no internal/external grooves, non-threaded through-hole structure.
Key Dimensions: Inner diameter 85mm, outer diameter… 113mm in diameter, 50mm in total length, 14mm in wall thickness, C2 chamfered ends, suitable for journal diameters of 85mm, weight approximately 1.8kg
Performance Parameters: Maximum operating temperature -40℃ to +150℃, suitable speed ≤3000rpm, radial load ≤50kN, suitable fit clearance 0.02-0.05mm, installation interference 0.01-0.03mm
Core Functions and Applications:
Journal Protection: Isolates the shaft from direct friction with the bearing/housing, absorbs impact loads, reduces journal wear, and is suitable for power transmission components under high load conditions.
Clearance Compensation: Used to repair excessive clearance in the shaft-hole fit after wear, avoiding costly replacement of the shaft or housing and reducing maintenance costs.
Positioning and Guiding: Precisely positions the axial position of bearings or gears, ensuring the coaxiality of transmission components and improving operational stability.
Typical locations: Engine camshaft support end, gearbox output shaft bearing housing, differential half-shaft sleeve, track tensioner cylinder guide sleeve, etc.
Installation and Maintenance Points
Before Installation: Clean the journal and mounting hole, check the sleeve for deformation, cracks, or rust; measure the interference fit between the inner diameter of the mounting hole and the outer diameter of the sleeve to be 0.01-0.03mm, prepare hydraulic pressing tools or liquid nitrogen cooling (cold fitting temperature -196℃, hold for 15 minutes).
During Installation: During cold fitting or pressing, keep the sleeve coaxial with the shaft/hole, apply uniform pressing force, and avoid skewing; after pressing, check the end face runout to be ≤0.05mm, with no jamming or loosening.
Maintenance and Replacement: Check radial clearance and surface wear every 4000 hours; replace immediately if wear exceeds 0.1mm or cracks or deformation appear, do not weld repair and reuse.
