CAT 420-5764 is a straight-tube bearing sleeve (steel-backed bronze bushing) used by Caterpillar for the gearboxes/drive axles of mini excavators and loaders. Installation and Maintenance Points

Before installation: Clean the bearing housing bore and journal, check the sleeve for deformation, cracks, or surface peeling; measure the housing bore diameter (75mm), ensuring a clearance of 0.01-0.03mm between the bearing housing bore and the sleeve outer diameter; prepare the press-in tool (press-in pressure approximately 8-12kN).

During installation: Maintain coaxiality during press-in, apply uniform pressing force, and after press-in, check the sleeve end face runout to be ≤0.05mm; after installation, inject extreme pressure lithium-based grease (NLGI 2) to ensure adequate lubrication of the bearing and sleeve.

Maintenance and replacement: Check the sleeve wear and fit clearance every 5000 hours. If abnormal noise occurs, the sleeve wear exceeds 0.2mm, or scratches appear on the surface, replace it immediately. Welding or repair by welding is prohibited.
