CAT 592-9379 is a dedicated double-row angular contact ball bearing for Caterpillar torque converters. It is compatible with the torque converters of the D11/D13 engines in Cat 777/785 series mining trucks and 988H/992K loaders. It supports the turbine shaft and pump impeller, bearing radial and bidirectional axial loads, and is suitable for heavy-duty, medium-to-high-speed applications. The following is precise technical and application information.

Core Parameters (Precise Version)

Item Details
Basic Attributes
Model 592-9379, Double-row angular contact ball bearing, used for torque converter turbine shaft support, bearing radial + bidirectional axial loads, suitable for medium and high speed (≤3000rpm), variable load conditions, single unit usage 1 piece/torque converter

Compatible Models: Cat 777F/777G mining trucks, 785D/785G mining trucks, 988H/988K loaders, 992K/993K loaders, compatible torque converter models 361-8519, 416-6308, matching turbine shaft 361-8520, pump wheel assembly 8P-5696

Material and Process: Bearing steel (GCr15SiMn), inner and outer ring hardness HRC 60-64, ball material ceramic hybrid steel, cage nylon PA66, double-sided contact seal, grease filling amount 30-35%, Precision grade P5, Tolerance fit J7
Key Dimensions: Inner diameter 120mm, Outer diameter 220mm, Width 65mm, Ball diameter 18mm, Number of balls 24, Contact angle 30°, Weight approx. 4.8kg
Performance Parameters: Basic rated dynamic load 210kN, Basic rated static load 250kN, Limiting speed 4200rpm (grease lubrication), Operating temperature -30℃ to +120℃, Axial preload 5-8kN, Installation interference 0.015-0.03mm
Core Functions and Application Scenarios:
Composite load-bearing: Simultaneously withstands the radial load (≤80kN) and bidirectional axial thrust (≤50kN) of the torque converter turbine shaft, suitable for heavy-load starting and braking conditions of mining trucks, ensuring the coaxiality of the turbine shaft and pump impeller, and reducing vibration and noise.

High-speed and stable: The double-row angular contact design is suitable for medium-to-high-speed (≤3000rpm) rotation of the torque converter turbine shaft. A nylon cage reduces centrifugal force and friction, and double-sided seals prevent hydraulic oil leakage and impurity intrusion. It is suitable for operating temperatures from -30℃ to +120℃.

Typical location: Between the front end of the torque converter turbine shaft and the rear end of the pump impeller, providing radial support and axial positioning for the turbine shaft. In conjunction with the torque converter lock-up clutch, it improves transmission efficiency and is suitable for frequent start-stop and speed-changing conditions in heavy-duty equipment.

Installation and maintenance points:

Before installation: Clean the bearing housing bore and turbine shaft, and check the bearing for deformation, cracks, or seal damage; measure the interference fit between the bearing housing bore and the bearing outer diameter to be 0.015-0.03mm, and prepare a special press-in tool (press-in pressure approximately 10-15kN).

During installation: Maintain coaxiality during pressing, apply uniform pressing force, and after pressing, check that the bearing end face runout is ≤0.15mm; after installation, inject NLGI 2 lithium-based grease to ensure sufficient lubrication, and control the axial preload at 5-8kN.

Maintenance and replacement: Check the bearing clearance and seal condition every 2000 hours. If the bearing clearance exceeds 0.15mm or the seals are aged, replace immediately. Do not attempt welding or surface treatment repairs.
