CAT 9V-4373 is a Caterpillar shaft C-type snap ring with an inner diameter of 44.5mm. It is used for axial positioning of shafts to prevent the movement of bearings, gears and other parts. It is suitable for assemblies such as gearboxes and hydraulic pumps in equipment such as small loaders and excavators. The following is structured and precise information:
Core Parameters (Professional Version)
Item Details
Basic Attributes
Model 9V-4373, C-type retaining ring for shaft (open elastic retaining ring), material is spring steel (65Mn/50CrV4), surface phosphate treatment for corrosion protection, quantity per unit 1–2 pieces (depending on shaft end positioning requirements)
Key Dimensions
Inner diameter 44.5 mm, free diameter approx. 47 mm, thickness 1.5–2.0 mm, groove width adaptable 2.0–2.5 mm, tolerance ISO h8, hardness 44–53 HRC, elastic opening ≥3 mm
Performance Characteristics
Excellent elasticity of spring steel, continuously provides radial preload after assembly, prevents axial movement, suitable speed ≤3000 rpm, static/light dynamic load, impact resistant, vibration resistant, adaptable to positioning grooves with a shaft diameter of 44.5 mm
Compatible Models Cat 906/907/908 Mini loaders, 301.7/302.7 mini excavators, 420/430/442 mini excavators, some gearboxes (e.g., 4W-0001), hydraulic pump shaft end positioning (e.g., 108-8369 pump body) wcsqa2auth.rd.cat.com Installation and Application Points:
Clean the shaft groove before installation, ensuring it is free of burrs and rust. The gap between the groove width and the retaining ring thickness should be ≤0.1 mm to prevent loosening after assembly.
Use retaining ring pliers to pry open the retaining ring and smoothly insert it into the shaft groove, avoiding excessive opening that could lead to plastic deformation (maximum opening ≤ elastic limit).
After installation, check that the retaining ring is fully inserted into the groove and that there are no protrusions on the edges to prevent scratching adjacent parts during rotation. It is recommended to use a shaft shoulder for positioning.
For heavy-load or impact conditions, it is recommended to check the elasticity and wear of the retaining ring every 1000 hours. Replace it immediately if it is deformed or broken.
