CAT 420-5763 is a Caterpillar straight-tube bearing sleeve (steel), suitable for positioning the slewing bearing and travel motor bearings of excavators such as the 320D/323D. It is used for radial positioning, load transfer, and wear compensation between the bearing and the shaft/seat bore. The following is structured technical information.
Core Parameters (Professional Version)
Project Details
Basic Attributes Model 420-5763, Straight-tube bearing sleeve, 1 piece per unit, suitable for tapered roller bearings/deep groove ball bearings, used for slewing bearing housings and travel motor shaft systems, bearing radial positioning and load transmission, compensating for installation errors.
Key Dimensions Inner diameter 90 mm, outer diameter 105 mm, total length 45 mm, wall thickness 7.5 mm, chamfers at both ends C1.5×45°, suitable shaft diameter 90 mm, seat bore diameter 105 mm, fit clearance 0.005–0.015 mm, coaxiality ≤0.01 mm
Material and Process Material is chromium-molybdenum alloy steel (AISI 4140), quenched and tempered HB280–320, surface hard chrome plating thickness 0.02–0.03 mm, surface roughness Ra≤0.8 μm, straightness ≤0.005 mm/100 mm
Performance Parameters Radial load capacity ≈ 50 kN, operating temperature -40℃ to +120℃, suitable bearing speed ≤2000 rpm, impact load coefficient 1.2, fatigue life ≥5000 hours, suitable for medium load and medium speed conditions.
Compatible models: Cat 320D/320D2/323D/323D2 excavators; compatible with slewing bearings and travel motor final drive bearings; matching bearing models such as 177-4144/177-4145 tapered roller bearings.
Installation and maintenance points:
Before installation, clean the inner and outer surfaces of the sleeve, journal, and seat bore. Journal surface hardness ≥ HRC55, roughness Ra ≤ 0.8 μm, seat bore roundness ≤ 0.01 mm, free of burrs and rust.
Cold press assembly: Use a special tooling to press evenly, avoiding sleeve deformation or scratches, ensuring close contact with the bearing end face, end face runout ≤ 0.02 mm. Welding or heat deformation installation is prohibited. After assembly, check the radial clearance to be 0.005–0.015 mm and the contact area with the bearing mating surface to be ≥85%. Fill with Cat 106-9900 grease (grease cavity volume 1/3–1/2).
Every 1500 hours, check the sleeve for wear and deformation. Replace it promptly if the outer diameter wear is >0.1 mm or the straightness is >0.02 mm to prevent bearing failure due to uneven load.
