CAT 604-6832 is a Caterpillar steel straight sleeve bearing (sliding bearing/bushing), suitable for connecting rod pins, shafts, or bushings in excavators, loaders, and other equipment. It is used for radial load bearing and friction reduction under low-speed conditions. The following is structured technical information.
Core Parameters (Professional Version)
Project Details
Basic Attributes Model 604-6832, Straight-tube sliding sleeve bearing, 1–4 pieces per unit, compatible with connecting rod pins and shaft supports, used for radial load bearing + low-speed wear reduction, and protection against chipping and minor impacts.
Key Dimensions Inner diameter 60 mm, outer diameter 75 mm, length 50 mm, wall thickness 7.5 mm, chamfered ends C1×45°, compatible shaft diameter 60 mm, seat bore diameter 75 mm, assembly clearance 0.015–0.03 mm, coaxiality ≤0.015 mm
Material and Process Material is AISI 1045 carbon steel, quenched and tempered to HB220–250, tin-plated bronze layer thickness on the inner bore surface 0.2–0.3 mm, surface roughness Ra≤0.8 μm, straightness ≤0.008 mm/100 mm
Performance Parameters Radial load capacity ≈40 kN, operating temperature -30℃ to +110℃, suitable speed ≤1500 rpm, impact load coefficient 1.1, fatigue life ≥4000 hours, allowable angular deviation ≤1°. Compatible with Cat 320/323 excavators and 938/950 loaders (connecting rod pins, boom pins), and matching bearings such as 102-2075 deep groove ball bearings.
Installation and Maintenance Points: Before installation, clean the inner and outer surfaces of the sleeve, journal, and seat bore. The journal surface hardness should be ≥HRC50, roughness Ra≤0.8 μm, and seat bore roundness ≤0.015 mm, free of burrs and rust.
Cold press assembly: Use a special tooling to press evenly, avoiding sleeve deformation or plating damage. Ensure close contact with the bearing end face, with end face runout ≤0.025 mm. Welding or heat fitting is prohibited.
After assembly, check the radial clearance to be 0.015–0.03 mm and the contact area with the shaft mating surface to be ≥80%. Fill with Cat 106-9900 grease (grease cavity volume 1/3–1/2).
Every 1200 hours, check the sleeve for wear and plating peeling. Replace it promptly if the inner diameter wear is >0.15 mm or the straightness is >0.02 mm to prevent shaft jamming or uneven loading.
