CAT 201-1311 is a hardened steel bearing locator (locking ring/flange type) used by Caterpillar for wheel-end/final drive applications. It has an outer diameter of 114 mm and is suitable for axial positioning of wheel hub bearings in Cat 950M/962M loaders, D6N bulldozers, and other equipment, preventing movement and loosening. The following is professional structured information.
Core Parameters (Professional Version)
Project Details
Basic Attributes Model 201-1311, Hardened Steel Flange Fixture, 1 unit per piece, Compatible Bearing 346-5216, Shaft Diameter φ65 mm (Tolerance h6: 0–-0.019 mm), Unit Weight 0.85 kg, Used for axial positioning inside the bearing, withstands static load and moderate impact, Matching Bolt 8T-4159 (M16×1.5, Grade 8.8)
Key Dimensions Outer Diameter 114 mm (Tolerance 0–-0.1 mm), Inner Diameter 65 mm (Tolerance +0.02–+0.04 mm), Flange Thickness 8 mm (Tolerance ±0.1 mm), Bolt Hole Distribution Circle Diameter 90 mm (Tolerance ±0.1 mm), Number of Bolt Holes 6, Hole Diameter 17 mm (Tolerance +0.1–+0.2 mm), Positioning Step Height 5 mm (Tolerance ±0.05 mm) (mm)
Material and Process: 42CrMo alloy steel, forged + quenched and tempered, surface induction hardened (hardened layer depth 2–3 mm), hardness 58–62 HRC, tensile strength ≥1000 MPa, yield strength ≥800 MPa, surface blackening + rust-preventive oil treatment (salt spray resistance ≥72 hours), flange end face flatness ≤0.05 mm
Performance Parameters: Rated axial load 50 kN, operating temperature -40℃ to +150℃, bolt preload torque 120–140 N・m, assembly rear end face runout ≤0.03 mm, can be repeatedly disassembled and reassembled ≥3 times, suitable for gear oil/hydraulic oil conditions
Compatible Models: Cat 950M/962M/972M loaders (hub bearings), D6N/D6T bulldozers (final drive input shaft), 906M mini loaders (steering knuckles), compatible bearing housing bore φ114 H7 (0–+0.035 mm)
Installation and Maintenance Points: Before installation, clean the flange face, journal, and bearing end face of the retainer. The journal surface roughness Ra ≤ 1.6 μm, free of scratches/burrs. Tighten the bolts in a crisscross sequence using a torque wrench, pre-tightening in 3 steps (50 N・m → 100 N・m → 130 N・m), ensuring the flange face and bearing end face are in close contact (gap ≤ 0.02 mm).
Gap Control: After installation, measure the runout of the retainer end face with a dial indicator. A runout < 0.03 mm is acceptable. If the runout exceeds this tolerance, check the flange flatness or journal roundness. Replace the retainer or repair the journal if necessary.
Maintenance Cycle: Check the bolt torque every 1500 hours. If the torque loss > 10%, retighten. Check the retainer for wear and cracks every 3000 hours. Replace immediately if wear > 0.1 mm or cracks are present.
Troubleshooting: If the retainer is loose or broken, first check for insufficient bolt preload, journal wear (>0.05 mm requires repair) or material fatigue. If necessary, replace the retainer and tighten the bolts according to specifications.
