CAT 2G-8233 is a Caterpillar steel annular spacer gasket with an inner diameter of 76.07 mm (3.00 in). It is used to adjust component clearances, set fastener extension lengths, and maintain component assembly relationships. It is suitable for articulated/drive components of Cat loaders, bulldozers, and other heavy equipment. The following is professional structured information.
Core Technical Parameters (Professional Version)
Item Details
Basic Attributes Model 2G-8233, steel flat washer/spacer, suitable shaft diameter 76 mm (tolerance h7), single weight 0.92 kg, single unit usage 1–2 pieces (such as bucket connecting rod hinge point, drive axle bearing end cover), matching fastener M36 bolts
Key Dimensions Inner diameter φ76.07 mm (tolerance H12: +0.25–0 mm), outer diameter φ108.76 mm (tolerance ±0.2 mm), thickness 23.88 mm (tolerance ±0.1 mm), end face parallelism ≤0.03 mm, inner and outer circle coaxiality ≤0.05 mm, chamfer at both ends 1×45°, surface roughness Ra≤1.6 μm
Material and Process Material is S45C carbon structural steel, overall quenching and tempering treatment (HB 220–250), surface galvanized passivation (compliant with…) RoHS compliant, corrosion resistant, precision turned and ground, hardness uniformity ≤HB 15, tensile strength ≥650 MPa
Performance Parameters: Rated load capacity ≥350 MPa, operating temperature -40℃ to +120℃, applicable fastener preload ≤180 kN, withstands cyclic load cycles ≥10^6, compatible NLGI 2 grade extreme pressure lithium-based grease
Compatible Machines: Loaders 980K/982M, Bulldozers D10T/D11T, Excavators 336D2, suitable for boom hinge bearing end caps, drive axle differential housings, gearbox output shaft ends, etc.
Installation and Maintenance Points: Before installation, clean the gasket end face, inner and outer circles, and mating surfaces, checking for deformation/cracks/rust. During installation, ensure the gasket is coaxial with the shaft/seat hole, and tighten with a torque wrench to the specified preload (M36 bolt preload approximately 160 kN). (kN), eccentric installation or overtightening is prohibited to prevent shim deformation.
Clearance Control: Shims are used to adjust the axial clearance of components. After installation, the axial clearance should be controlled within 0.1–0.2 mm. This can be achieved by increasing or decreasing the number of shims or selecting shims of different thicknesses (e.g., 2G-8233, 23.88 mm thick, can be used with 276-3687 thin shim sets for fine adjustment).
Maintenance Requirements: Check the tightness of the shims every 500 hours. If loosening/deformation/corrosion is found, replace them immediately. When replacing, simultaneously check the wear of the mating shaft diameter and seat hole. Shaft diameter wear > 0.1 mm requires repair or replacement.
Troubleshooting: If abnormal noise/increased vibration occurs in the components, first check for changes in shim thickness (wear > 0.2 mm requires replacement), cleanliness of mating surfaces, or insufficient preload of fasteners. If necessary, replace the shims and recalibrate the coaxiality.
