CAT 6G-4681 is a Caterpillar genuine transmission/rear axle differential side cover (bearing end cover), suitable for the power shift transmission or rear axle differential housing side of early D6D/D6G bulldozers, 951B/966C loaders, etc. It is used for sealing, dust protection, and positioning bearings. It weighs approximately 1.8 kg. The following is professional structured information:
Core Technical Parameters (Professional Version)
Item Details
Basic Attributes
Model 6G-4681, cast iron side cover, outer diameter φ280 mm (11.02 in), inner diameter φ120 mm (4.72 in), total thickness 22 mm (0.866 in), material HT200 gray cast iron (HB 170-200), epoxy primer + black topcoat, weight 1.8 kg, sealing groove width 8 mm, depth 3 mm (suitable for skeleton oil seals), mounting bolt holes evenly distributed 6×φ14 mm (fits M12×1.75 bolts)
Key Dimensions: Bolt hole center circle diameter φ240 mm, inner hole fit tolerance + 0.02/-0.01 mm, end face flatness ≤0.05 mm, radial runout ≤0.04 mm, bearing positioning step diameter φ120 mm, height 5 mm, positioning tolerance + 0.01/-0.005 mm
Material and Process: HT200 gray cast iron sand casting, end face precision milling (Ra≤3.2 μm), inner hole turning (Ra≤6.3 μm), sealing groove surface roughness Ra≤1.6 μm, corrosion resistance rating IP65, operating temperature -30℃ to +100℃, impact strength ≥12 J/cm²
Compatible Models: Compatible with power shift gearbox side covers for Cat D6D/D6G tracked bulldozers, 951B/966C wheel loaders, and 14G graders; also used for… Rear axle differential housing end cover for 824C wheeled bulldozers and 980B loaders:
Assembly fit: Flatness with the gearbox housing ≤0.05 mm; bolt preload torque 80-85 N·m; interference fit (0.02-0.03 mm) with the skeleton oil seal (recommended 6G-4682 oil seal); end face clearance ≤0.1 mm.
Installation and maintenance points: Before installation, check the side cover for cracks and sand holes. Clean the housing mounting surface and bearing outer ring. Replace with a new skeleton oil seal and apply lithium-based grease (NLGI 2) to the sealing lip.
During installation, use guide pins for positioning and tighten the bolts symmetrically and evenly (in two stages to achieve the preload torque). Ensure the oil seal is not twisted and the side cover fits the housing without misalignment. After installation, check the bearing rotation flexibility for no jamming or abnormal noise.
Maintenance cycle: Check for leaks in the seals every 2000 hours, and replace the side cover and oil seal every 5000 hours or during a major gearbox overhaul. Replace immediately if cracks, deformation or seal failure are found.
