CAT 241-4644 is a Caterpillar genuine generator shaft cylindrical roller bearing, suitable for high-power generator sets such as Cat 3516B/C32, and the drive/non-drive ends of some industrial gas turbines. It is used to withstand radial heavy loads and stable operation at medium speeds, ensuring shaft rotational accuracy and stable power output. It weighs approximately 2.8 kg. The following is professional structured information:

Core Technical Parameters (Professional Version)

Item Details
Basic Attributes
Model 241-4644, type is single-row cylindrical roller bearing (with cage), material is chromium-molybdenum alloy steel (4140), inner diameter φ100 mm, outer diameter φ180 mm, width 46 mm, single weight 2.8 kg, with outer ring lubrication groove + 3 radial oil filling holes (φ4 mm), inner ring without flange, outer ring with double flange, suitable journal diameter φ100 mm±0.02 mm, rated radial dynamic load 280 kN, static load 420 kN, operating temperature -30℃ to +150℃, limiting speed 3600 rpm (oil lubrication) / 2400 rpm (grease lubrication)

Key dimensions: Inner diameter tolerance +0.01/-0.005 mm, outer diameter tolerance +0.02/-0.01 mm, width tolerance ±0.1 mm, inner hole surface roughness Ra≤0.4 μm, outer diameter Ra≤1.6 μm, lubrication groove width 4 mm, depth 2 mm, cage is made of stamped steel plate, window size is suitable for roller diameter φ12 mm, length 40 mm, number of rollers 28, end face runout ≤0.03 mm

Material and process: Inner/outer rings are made of 4140 alloy steel integrally quenched (HRC 60-64, hardened layer 2.0-2.5 mm), rollers are made of high carbon chromium bearing steel (GCr15, HRC…) (62-66) The cage is made of SPCC steel sheet, stamped and passivated with zinc plating (film thickness 8-12 μm). The rollers feature a symmetrical edge-trimmed design to reduce contact stress. The lubrication groove and oil injection hole are connected to ensure uniform grease distribution. It can withstand moderate impact and vibration (impact strength ≥8 J/cm²).

Compatible Models: Compatible with the generator drive/non-drive end journals of Cat 3516B/C32 generator sets, the alternator shaft end of 992K loaders, and accessory drive shaft supports for some Cat C175-20 engines. It is also used for the generator bearing positions of Cat XQ2000/XQ3000 mobile power stations, suitable for mounting positions with a journal diameter of φ100 mm.

Assembly Fit: Interference fit with journal (interference 0.015-0.025 mm), clearance fit with bearing housing (clearance 0.01-0.02 mm). Installation requires a hydraulic press (pressure ≥10). t) Press in smoothly. After installation, the coaxiality should be ≤0.05 mm. Lubrication is recommended using NLGI 2 lithium-based grease (with EP additive). The initial grease filling volume should be 1/2 of the bearing volume. Replenish lubrication every 2000 hours.

Installation and Maintenance Points:

Before installation, clean the journal and bearing housing bore. Check the bearing for cracks, roller jamming, and blockages in the lubrication groove and oil filling hole. During installation, align the oil filling hole with the bearing housing oil passage, use a special tool for positioning, and press in. Do not hammer, as this may damage the raceway and rollers.

After installation, check the fit between the bearing outer ring and the housing bore (clearance ≤0.02 mm). The shaft should rotate freely without jamming. Run under no-load for 30 minutes, monitoring temperature ≤80℃ and vibration ≤0.5 mm/s. During long-term operation, check every 2500 hours. If abnormal temperature rise, abnormal noise, or increased clearance (>0.1 mm) is found, replace immediately.

Disassembly requires a bearing puller (pulling force ≥ 5 t) and the use of a heated inner ring (temperature 80-100℃) to assist in disassembly. Avoid prying too hard and damaging the journal and bearing housing. During replacement, simultaneously check the journal wear (≤ 0.05 mm). If the wear exceeds this limit, repair the journal before installing the new bearing.
