CAT 583-8153 GD is a Caterpillar original general-purpose (GD) sleeve bearing (shoulder sleeve/sliding bearing), compatible with Cat 320D/323D excavator bucket linkages and 242D/252D skid steer loader boom joints. It is primarily designed to withstand radial loads under medium to heavy-duty conditions, and is suitable for low-speed oscillation and low-impact applications, ensuring smooth rotation of the working device joints. The following is complete professional information from Cat® Parts:

Core Technical Parameters (Professional Version)

Item Details
Basic Attributes
Model: 583-8153 GD; Type: General-purpose sleeve bearing (no oil groove/hole, integral cylindrical sliding bearing); Compatible with Cat 320D/323D excavator bucket linkages and 242D/252D skid steer loader boom joints; Material: Bimetallic composite layer (low-carbon steel backing + bronze alloy anti-friction layer); Inner diameter: 100.216 mm (approx.) 3.945 in), outer diameter 120 mm, length 100 mm, single weight approximately 1.8 kg, rated radial load 120 kN, operating temperature -40℃ to +120℃, suitable shaft speed ≤50 rpm, suitable journal tolerance f7, bearing housing bore tolerance H7, surface roughness Ra≤0.8 μm. Cat® Parts

Key Dimensions: Inner diameter tolerance 0/-0.025 mm, outer diameter tolerance +0.020/-0.010 mm, length tolerance ±0.2 mm, inner bore cylindricity ≤0.015 mm, chamfer at both ends 1.5×45°, suitable journal diameter 100 mm (tolerance f7), bearing housing bore inner diameter ≥120 mm, depth ≥100 mm

Material and Process: Steel backing material Q235 low carbon steel (thickness 3 mm, tensile strength ≥370 MPa), friction-reducing layer material… CuPb10Sn10 bronze alloy (2 mm thickness, HB 80-100 hardness), surface without oil grooves/holes, centrifugal casting process, bonding strength ≥150 MPa, friction-reducing layer surface without porosity/inclusions, friction coefficient ≤0.12 (boundary lubrication conditions).
Compatible models: Cat 320D/323D excavators (serial number JBT1000-UP) bucket connecting rod pins, 242D/252D skid steer loaders (serial number JCB1000-UP) boom and frame connecting pins. Used for radial support at joints, suitable for heavy-duty swinging and low-speed conditions, ensuring smooth operation of the working device and preventing pin sleeve jamming. Cat® Parts assembly fit: Outer diameter interference fit with bearing housing bore (interference 0.015-0.025 mm), inner diameter clearance fit with connecting rod pin (clearance 0.05-0.08 mm), rear end face runout ≤0.05 mm. mm, radial runout ≤0.10 mm, contact area ≥90%, no excessive local clearance. Installation and Maintenance Points: Before installation, clean the journal and bearing housing bore. Check for bearing deformation and peeling of the anti-friction layer. Use the cold fitting method (freeze at -20℃ for 2 hours) or a special press-fit tool to smoothly press in the bearing. Do not directly strike the end face to prevent deformation of the steel back and peeling of the anti-friction layer.

After installation, add Cat-specific extreme pressure grease (NLGI grade 2, the amount added is 2/3 of the clearance between the bearing and the pin). Replenish every 500 hours to avoid dry friction that can accelerate wear of the anti-friction layer.

Maintenance Recommendations: If the bearing operating temperature is >80℃ or abnormal jamming/noise occurs, stop the machine immediately for inspection. If the anti-friction layer wear is >0.30 mm or scratches/peeling appear on the surface, the bearing must be replaced. Regularly check the seals to prevent dust/moisture from entering and causing pin corrosion and jamming.
