CAT 183-4912 is a Caterpillar genuine steel straight-tube positioning sleeve, adapted for transmission components such as the output shaft of the Cat 950GC loader gearbox, the rear axle differential of the 140M grader, and the slewing bearing of the 320D excavator. It is used for bearing positioning, shaft diameter compensation, and load distribution optimization. Below is its core technology and application information:

Core Technical Parameters
Item Details
Basic Attributes
Model 183-4912, type is steel straight-tube positioning sleeve (no oil groove/oil hole, galvanized passivation surface), adapted for Cat 950GC loader gearbox output shaft bearing positioning, 140M grader rear axle differential bushing, 320D excavator slewing bearing shaft diameter compensation, C15 engine fan clutch bushing, material is SAE 1045 medium carbon steel (hardened HRC 38-42), surface roughness Ra≤0.8 μm, operating temperature -40℃ to + 120℃, single weight approximately 0.82 kg (1.8 lb), rust resistance rating IP54, salt spray test ≥96 hours, no sealed design, suitable for grease/oil lubrication.

Key Dimensions: Inner diameter 50 mm (tolerance h6, 0/-0.015 mm), outer diameter 65 mm (tolerance g6, -0.009/-0.025 mm), width 25 mm (tolerance ±0.10 mm), chamfer r1=1.5 mm, parallelism of both end faces ≤0.01 mm, coaxiality ≤0.015 mm, total length 25 mm (excluding chamfer).

Material and Process: 1045 medium carbon steel forged blank, heat treated (HB 220-250) → precision turning → external cylindrical grinding (roundness ≤0.005 mm) → galvanizing passivation (film thickness 8-12 mm). μm), laser-marked part number and batch information on both ends, no internal oil passage, lubricated by adjacent bearings/seals.

Compatible with Cat 950GC loader gearbox output shaft, 140M grader rear axle differential, 320D excavator slewing bearing, C15 engine fan clutch shaft. Suitable for bearing positioning, shaft diameter compensation, and reducing shaft-bearing housing clearance. Used in heavy-duty transmission parts such as gearboxes, rear axles, and slewing mechanisms.

Assembly fits 50 mm diameter shafts (tolerance k6, +0.015/+0.002 mm), 65 mm diameter bearing housing bores (tolerance H7, +0.030/0 mm). Hot mounting (80-100℃, 5 minutes) onto the shaft; cold mounting (-20 to -30℃, 30 minutes). (Minutes) to the bearing housing bore, ensuring the end face fits snugly against the shaft shoulder and the bearing housing step.

Installation and Maintenance Points:

Before installation, clean the shaft and bearing housing bore. Check the inner and outer circles of the sleeve for cracks, rust, and scratches. Surface roughness Ra≤0.8 μm, and shaft-to-bore coaxiality error≤0.02 mm.

Hot-fit sleeve to shaft: Heat the sleeve in an 80-100℃ constant temperature oil bath for 5 minutes, then quickly fit it onto the shaft, using the shaft shoulder for positioning.

Cold-fit sleeve to bearing housing bore: Cool the sleeve in an environment of -20 to -30℃ for 30 minutes, then insert it into the housing bore, ensuring the end face fits snugly against the bearing housing step. Do not strike the sleeve end face.

Maintenance Recommendations: Check the fit between the sleeve and the shaft/bearing housing every 1000 hours. If loosening, wear exceeding 0.1 mm, or surface rust is found, replace immediately. Replace the sleeve simultaneously with the bearing to avoid bearing damage due to uneven load caused by sleeve wear.
