During installation, use internal retaining ring pliers to compress the retaining ring before inserting it into the groove, ensuring the retaining ring is fully embedded without axial clearance.
Installation and Maintenance Points: Before installation, clean the groove inside the hole, check the retaining ring for deformation, cracks, and burrs. The groove surface roughness Ra ≤ 1.6 μm, the groove width and diameter meet tolerance requirements, and there should be no impact damage.
Use specialized internal retaining ring pliers to pry open the retaining ring, compressing it to a size smaller than the bore diameter, and then insert it into the groove. Release the pliers to allow the retaining ring to spring back and embed itself into the groove, ensuring that the retaining ring fits snugly against the bottom of the groove without any axial looseness. Do not strike the retaining ring with hard objects.
Maintenance Recommendation: Check the retaining ring’s elasticity and groove fit every 1000 hours. If the retaining ring is deformed, broken, or the groove is worn, causing a clearance exceeding 0.1 mm, replace it immediately. During replacement, simultaneously check the axial clearance of adjacent bearings/gears.
