CAT 133-5253 is a Caterpillar single-direction thrust ball bearing, primarily designed for use in the engine crankshaft thrust end, gearbox output shaft, or hydraulic pump drive shaft of Caterpillar 320D/336D excavators, 966K loaders, 140M graders, and other models. It is used to bear axial loads, limit axial movement of components, and is compatible with Cat C6.4/C7.1/C9 engines and Cat 345B/C/D hydraulic systems. It ensures coaxiality of rotating parts, prevents bearing wear, gear misalignment, or seal failure, and is compatible with the 263-4911 thrust bearing rod. It has a rated axial load of ≥180 kN, is suitable for oil lubrication, and has a fatigue life of ≥10,000 hours (Cat® Parts). The following is structured technical and application information:

Core Technical Parameters

Item Details
Basic Attributes
Model 133-5253, Single-direction thrust ball bearing, suitable for 320D/336D excavators, 966K/972M loaders, 140M/160M graders, 420F backhoe loaders, material is chromium bearing steel (GCr15, integrally quenched HRC 60-64), cage is stamped steel plate, operating temperature -40℃ to +120℃, single weight approximately 0.48 kg, suitable for SAE 15W-40 diesel engine oil lubrication, rated axial load ≥180 kN, limiting speed 2800 rpm, fatigue life ≥10000 hours, used to bear axial load and limit axial movement, suitable for 263-4911 thrust bearing rod

Key Dimensions
Inner diameter 75.00 mm (tolerance) H7 (+0.030/0 mm), compatible with 263-4911 thrust bearing rod and thrust disc (diameter 75.00 mm, tolerance h7), outer diameter 110.00 mm (tolerance h6, 0/-0.016 mm), total thickness 18.00 mm (tolerance ±0.10 mm), steel ball diameter 9.525 mm (12 balls), ball assembly pitch circle diameter 92.00 mm, thrust surface roughness Ra≤0.4 μm, axial clearance 0.03-0.05 mm, clearance with thrust disc 0.02-0.04 mm. Material and process: GCr15 chromium bearing steel → forging → rough grinding → quenching (850℃ oil quenching) → low temperature tempering (160℃) → fine grinding → assembly (steel balls + stamped cage) → rust prevention treatment, hardened layer depth 2.0-2.5 mm. With a diameter of 75.00 mm, it possesses high hardness, high wear resistance, and fatigue resistance, making it suitable for high-load, high-speed operating conditions of engines, transmissions, and hydraulic pumps, and capable of withstanding alternating axial loads.

Compatible models: Cat 320D/336D excavators (C6.4/C7.1 engines), 966K/972M loaders (Cat 345D hydraulic system), 140M/160M graders (C9 engine), 420F backhoe loaders (C6.6 engine). It is used for the engine crankshaft thrust end, transmission output shaft, and hydraulic pump drive shaft, and is used in conjunction with the 263-4911 thrust bearing rod to limit axial movement, bear axial loads, and maintain the coaxiality of rotating parts.

Assembly fit: Compatible with 263-4911 thrust bearing rod thrust disc (diameter 75.00 mm, tolerance h7), with a thrust surface contact area ≥90% and an axial clearance controlled between 0.03-0.05 mm after installation. The bearing diameter is 1.5 mm, and the coaxiality with the thrust bearing rod is ≤0.03 mm. It is compatible with M30×3.5 bolts (grade 10.9, preload torque 320-350 N・m). The bearing end face fits tightly with the thrust disc, without any off-center load.

Installation and Maintenance Points: Before installation, clean the bearing, thrust disc, and mounting surface. Check for scratches, rust, and cracks. Measure the bearing inner diameter and thrust disc diameter, and the bearing outer diameter and mounting seat inner diameter to ensure the fit meets requirements. The mounting seat surface roughness Ra≤1.6 μm, and the end face is flat and free from deformation.

Use the cold mounting method to ensure the bearing and thrust disc are coaxial. Do not directly strike the bearing end face with a hammer to prevent damage to the steel balls or cage. After installation, check the axial clearance and control it to 0.03-0.05 mm using shims to ensure the bearing rotates freely without jamming.

Maintenance recommendations: Check the bearing wear condition every 2000 hours. If the thrust surface wear is >0.10 mm or there is pitting on the steel balls or deformation of the cage, replace it immediately. Change the oil regularly to keep the oil clean and avoid accelerated bearing wear due to oil contamination, which will affect the axial positioning accuracy and load-bearing capacity.
