CAT 584-4245 YM is a Caterpillar straight-tube steel-backed copper alloy sleeve bearing (also called a sliding bushing). It is suitable for Cat D series excavators, 950M loaders, C13 engines, connecting rod/rocker arm pins, pilot valve shafts, or rotary gearboxes. It is used to bear radial loads, position the shaft system, and reduce friction. It is suitable for low-to-medium speed, medium load, and vibration conditions, prevents shaft wear and movement, and ensures stable operation of the transmission and hydraulic systems. Assembly fit: Compatible with 38.1 mm diameter shaft (tolerance h7, 0/-0.015 mm), bearing housing bore diameter 47.63 mm (tolerance H8, +0.039/0 mm). During installation, a clearance fit (0.012-0.025 mm) is used with the shaft. Cat 9S-3265 fastener can be used for fixing, with 1.5-2 mm clearance left at both ends. Installation allowance to avoid interference with surrounding components.
Installation and Maintenance Points:
**Before installation, clean the inner bore of the sleeve, journal, and bearing housing bore. Check for scratches, rust, and cracks on the surface. Measure the dimensions of the journal and bearing housing bore to ensure the fit meets requirements. The journal fillet radius should be ≤1.2 mm to avoid stress concentration.
Use cold fitting or low-temperature press fitting (do not heat above 80℃) to smoothly press the sleeve into the bearing housing bore. Do not directly strike the sleeve end face with a hammer to prevent deformation or alloy layer peeling. After installation, check the coaxiality to ensure the shaft system rotates without jamming.
Maintenance Recommendations: Check the sleeve wear and lubrication condition every 1200 hours. If the inner diameter wear exceeds 0.15 mm or peeling or cracks appear on the surface, replace it immediately. Regular lubrication with Cat Moly Grease is recommended to extend service life.
