CAT 571-2777 is Caterpillar’s snap-on silicone-coated fiberglass heat-resistant tubing, primarily used for high-temperature protection of wiring harnesses/pipes around engines and exhaust systems. It can withstand continuous high temperatures and short-term thermal shocks, making it suitable for the harsh operating conditions of Cat’s medium and heavy machinery. It has the advantages of easy installation and repeated disassembly, and is a key protective component Cat® Parts that ensures that cables and pipes are not damaged by heat. The following is structured technical and application information:

Core Technical Parameters

Item Details
Basic Attributes
Model 571-2777, Type: Hook-on heat-resistant protective sleeve, Material: Fiberglass braided + silicone coating (thickness 0.8-1.0 mm), Hook is made of nylon flame-retardant material, Color: Black, Single weight: Approximately 0.45 kg/piece, Operating temperature: -40℃ to +260℃, Instantaneous temperature resistance: ≤1100℃ (duration ≤15 minutes), Fire rating: UL94 V-0, Insulation strength: ≥20 kV/mm, Chemical resistance (resistant to machine oil, hydraulic oil, weak acid/alkali), Design life: ≥8000 hours (normal operating conditions)

Key Dimensions
Inner diameter: 69.9 mm (tolerance + 2/-1 mm), Length: 500 mm (tolerance + 5/-3 mm), Wall thickness: 3.2 mm (coating + fiberglass), Hook width: 25 mm, Closed inner diameter fits 65-70 mm Cables/conduits, cut to size (recommended minimum cut length 50 mm)

Compatible Models and Accessories: Compatible with Cat C13, C15, C18 engines (wiring harness protection), 966M/972M loaders (hydraulic hose protection), 320D2/330D2 excavators (exhaust system peripheral wiring harness), with 5P-0960 high-temperature resistant cable ties and 103-8329 fixing clips. Can be used in combination with specifications such as 571-2778 (inner diameter 50 mm) and 571-2779 (inner diameter 80 mm).

Performance Parameters: Thermal conductivity 0.12 W/(m・K), tensile strength ≥1500 N/50 mm, elongation at break ≥25%, abrasion resistance ≥5000 cycles (10 N load), waterproof rating IP44, aging resistance (120℃×1000 mm). (Performance retention rate ≥85% within hours)
Structural and Performance Advantages: Silicone-coated fiberglass substrate combines high heat resistance and flexibility, allowing for bending to adapt to complex wiring harnesses/pipelines. The snap-on design allows for installation without disassembly, and repeated disassembly for maintenance significantly improves repair efficiency.

Flame-retardant, insulating, waterproof, and oil-proof properties effectively isolate high temperatures, sparks, and chemical corrosion, protecting the insulation and seals of internal cables/pipes, reducing the risk of short circuits and leaks, and making it suitable for harsh environments such as engine compartments and exhaust manifold areas.

The uniform and dense coating provides strong wear and tear resistance, resisting mechanical vibration and minor friction, extending the lifespan of the conduit, and reducing the impact of heat radiation on surrounding components, thus improving system safety.

Installation and Maintenance Points
**Before installation, clean the surface of the cable/conduit to be protected, ensuring it is free of oil and burrs. Cut the conduit to the required length (leaving a 5-10 mm allowance). Open the latches and wrap them around the cable/conduit, evenly fastening the latches. Secure both ends with high-temperature resistant cable ties (spaced ≤100 mm) to prevent loosening.

After installation, check that the latches are tightly closed, ensuring there are no exposed areas. Keep away from open flames and sharp objects. If the distance between the conduit and a heat source is ≤50 mm, it is recommended to add a heat insulation pad.

Maintenance: Every 1000 hours, check for coating damage and latch aging. If coating peeling or latch failure occurs, replace immediately. For partial damage, cut and replace the corresponding section; complete replacement is not necessary, reducing maintenance costs.
