CAT 137-6659 is a Caterpillar shaft flexible bearing retainer ring (Type C), suitable for axial positioning of bearings in Cat 320/323 excavators, 966K loaders, and other models. It is used to fix the inner ring of the bearing and prevent axial movement. It is suitable for medium and low speed and medium axial load conditions and is a key fastener for bearing positioning in transmission systems and working devices. The following is structured technical and application information:

Core Technical Parameters

Item Details
Basic Attributes Model 137-6659, Type: Shaft Elastic Retaining Ring (Type C), Material: 65Mn Spring Steel (Galvanized and Passivated Surface, 96-Hour Salt Spray Rust Prevention), Weight: Approx. 0.02 kg, Suitable Temperature: -40℃ to +120℃, Installation Method: Snap-in Shaft Groove, with Removal Notch (Cat® Parts)

Key Dimensions Suitable Shaft Diameter: 50 mm (Groove Diameter: 49.8 mm, Tolerance: ±0.05 mm), Retaining Ring Free Inner Diameter: 48.5 mm, Installed Inner Diameter: 50 mm, Thickness: 2.0 mm (Tolerance: ±0.05 mm), Width: 3.0 mm (Tolerance: ±0.1 mm), Groove Width: 2.1 mm (Tolerance: +0.1/-0.05 mm), Groove Depth: 1.2 mm (Tolerance: ±0.05 mm)

Compatible Models and Locations Compatible with Cat® Parts 320 Excavator boom bearing inner ring positioning, 323 Excavator stick cylinder bearing fixing, 966K loader steering bearing axial limit, D6T bulldozer idler wheel bearing positioning, one part per bearing, used to bear axial load (maximum axial force ≤15 kN).

Performance Parameters: Rated axial load 15 kN, hardness HRC44-51, elastic recovery rate ≥95%, shear strength ≥800 MPa, radial tension after installation ≥2 kN, disassembly cycles ≥5 times (no permanent deformation).

Structural and Performance Advantages:
Reliable axial positioning: C-type elastic design, after being inserted into the shaft groove, generates radial tension, tightly fitting the shaft surface, effectively preventing axial movement of the bearing, suitable for medium axial load conditions.

Easy installation and disassembly: With disassembly notch, it can be quickly installed/disassembled with retaining ring pliers, without the need for complex tooling, improving maintenance efficiency (Cat® Parts).

Rust-resistant and durable: Made of 65Mn spring steel with galvanized passivation treatment, providing strong rust resistance and making it suitable for humid and dusty construction environments, extending the service life of Cat® Parts.

Highly adaptable: Compatible with various Caterpillar heavy machinery bearings, ensuring precise fit with the bearing inner ring and stable operation of the transmission system.

Installation and maintenance points: Before installation, clean the shaft groove and retaining ring, checking for cracks and deformation on the retaining ring and ensuring the shaft groove dimensions meet requirements; use special retaining ring pliers to pry open the retaining ring and insert it into the shaft groove, ensuring complete embedding. After installation, the retaining ring should fit snugly against the bearing inner ring without looseness.

Maintenance every 2000 hours: Check the elasticity and surface rust of the retaining ring. If deformation, cracks, or severe rust are found, replace it immediately; also check the shaft groove wear (repair the shaft groove if the groove width wear is >0.1 mm).

Prioritize genuine parts. Aftermarket parts may have insufficient material hardness or poor elasticity, easily leading to retaining ring detachment, bearing movement, and component wear and failure.
