CAT 9R-4024 is a Caterpillar steel-backed copper-based alloy straight bushing, adapted for the boom, stick, and connecting rod pin parts of Cat 416/420/428 series backhoe loaders (reverse loaders). It is used for sliding support under low to medium speed and medium radial load, reducing wear on the pins and seat holes, and is a core wear-resistant component of the working device joint parts. The following is structured technical and application information:
Core Technical Parameters
Item Details
Basic Attributes
Model 9R-4024, Type: Straight oil-slot-less bushing, Material: Steel back + CuPb10Sn10 copper-lead alloy (including solid lubricant), Weight: Approx. 0.42 kg, Suitable Temperature: -30℃ to +120℃, Installation Method: Cold press fitting, No oil hole/oil groove (relies on pin lubrication)
Key Dimensions
Inner Diameter: 50 mm (Tolerance H7, 50.00-50.03 mm), Outer Diameter: 63 mm (Tolerance g6, 62.97-62.99 mm), Length: 40 mm (Tolerance ±0.1 mm), Wall Thickness: 6.5 mm, Press Fitting Interference: 0.025-0.04 mm, End Face Perpendicularity: ≤0.01 mm
Compatible Models and Locations
Compatible with Cat 416/420/428 The boom pin bushing, stick cylinder lug bushing, and connecting rod joint bushing of the backhoe loader are supplied with one bushing per pin, bearing radial load (maximum radial force ≤30 kN).
Performance Parameters: Rated radial load 30 kN, copper layer hardness HB70-85, steel backing tensile strength ≥420 MPa, coefficient of friction ≤0.12 (oil lubrication), copper layer thickness 0.8 mm, inner diameter shrinkage after press fitting ≤0.02 mm, service life ≥5000 hours.
Structural and Performance Advantages:
Wear Resistance and Friction Reduction: The steel backing provides rigid support, and the copper-lead alloy layer contains solid lubricant, suitable for dusty and humid environments on construction sites, reducing friction and wear between the pin and the seat hole, and extending component life.
Stable Load Bearing: The copper alloy layer absorbs impact and vibration, suitable for the frequent start-stop and load fluctuation conditions of backhoe loaders, ensuring smooth operation of joint parts.
Easy Installation: The straight, flangeless design allows for cold press fitting without additional tightening, suitable for compact installation spaces, and improves maintenance efficiency. Highly adaptable: Precisely matches original parts with pins and housings, ensuring accurate operation of the working device and reducing problems such as excessive clearance and abnormal noise caused by bushing wear.
Installation and Maintenance Points: Before installation, clean the housing, pin, and bushing, checking for cracks, deformation, and burrs. Use a press to cold-press the bushing into the housing (pressure 5-8 MPa), ensuring the end face is flush with the housing. Do not strike the bushing body to avoid damaging the copper layer.
Maintenance every 2500 hours: Check the clearance between the bushing and pin (maximum allowable clearance 0.25 mm). Replace immediately if it exceeds the tolerance. Regularly add lithium-based grease (NLGI 2) to the pin, adding only a small amount each time to ensure adequate lubrication.
Prioritize original parts. Aftermarket parts may have improper material ratios or insufficient dimensional accuracy, easily leading to premature wear, pin jamming, abnormal operation of the working device, and component damage.
