CAT 533-6974 is a Caterpillar single-row tapered roller bearing (including inner ring/outer ring/roller assembly), suitable for drive axle differentials and steering knuckles of wheel loaders, bulldozers, etc. Its core advantage is that it can withstand radial and bidirectional axial loads at the same time, and can cope with heavy load and impact conditions. It is a key support component of the transmission system. The following is structured technical and application information:

Core Technical Parameters

Item Details
Basic Attributes
Model 533-6974, Type: Single-row tapered roller bearing, Material: Bearing steel (GCr15, HRC60-64), Weight: Approx. 2.2 kg, Suitable Temperature: -40℃ to +120℃, Lubrication Method: Grease/Oil lubrication, Cage Material: Stamped steel, No seal (oil seal required)

Key Dimensions
Inner Diameter: 70 mm (Tolerance h6, 69.97-70.00 mm), Outer Diameter: 125 mm (Tolerance P0, 124.96-124.99 mm), Width: 38 mm (Tolerance ±0.1 mm), Number of Rollers: 28, Press-fit Interference: 0.02-0.04 mm

Compatible Models and Locations
Compatible with Cat 938K/950GC loader drive axle differential, D6K Bulldozer steering knuckle and 140M grader drive wheel axle, one piece per axle, bearing radial and bidirectional axial loads (maximum radial force ≤180 kN, maximum axial force ≤80 kN).

Performance Parameters: Rated dynamic load 180 kN, rated static load 240 kN, grease lubrication limiting speed 2200 rpm, oil lubrication limiting speed 2800 rpm, coefficient of friction ≤0.003, allowable shaft misalignment relative to bearing housing ≤0.2°.

Structural and Performance Advantages:

Bidirectional Load Bearing: The tapered roller structure can simultaneously bear radial and bidirectional axial loads, suitable for drive axles, steering knuckles, and other components requiring composite load bearing, handling the complex forces during equipment steering and driving.

High Rigidity: The integral cage + dense roller design provides high structural rigidity, resisting heavy-load impacts, suitable for frequent start-stop operations and harsh working conditions in construction machinery, extending service life (Cat).

Precise Installation: The inner and outer rings are designed to be separated and press-fitted individually. Precise interference fit ensures reliable positioning after installation, reducing vibration and noise during operation.

Wear and Temperature Resistance: The bearing steel is hardened to HRC60-64. The stamped steel cage is heat-resistant, suitable for outdoor high-temperature and dusty environments. Under normal maintenance, its service life is ≥8000 hours.

Installation and Maintenance Points: Before installation, clean the shaft diameter, bearing housing bore, and bearing. Check the shaft diameter surface roughness Ra≤0.8 μm, ensuring no burrs or scratches. For the inner ring, heat-fit (oil temperature 80-100℃) or cold-press (pressure 10-12 MPa). Press the outer ring into the bearing housing, ensuring a proper fit between the end faces. Tighten the bolts to a torque of 110-120 N・m.

Maintenance every 2000 hours: Check bearing for abnormal operating noise, temperature (≤85℃), and sealing condition. If roller pitting or cage deformation is found, replace the bearing immediately. Lubricate with Cat HYDO 10 hydraulic oil or NLGI 2 lithium-based grease, filling the bearing cavity to 1/3-1/2 of its volume.

Prioritize genuine parts. Aftermarket parts may lack dimensional accuracy and material strength, easily leading to bearing seizure, shaft wear, and drive axle failure.
