CAT 580-6021 is a Caterpillar original equipment manufacturer (OEM) axle locating sleeve for SEM (Shandong Machinery) loaders/bulldozers, used for bearing positioning and shaft clearance compensation in the drive axle and transmission output shaft. The following is structured raw data, excluding replacement parts information (Cat® Parts).
Core Technical Parameters (Raw Data)
Item Details
Basic Attributes Model 580-6021, type is shaft positioning sleeve (spacer), material 42CrMo alloy steel, quenched and tempered, hardness HB 280-320, surface anodized black, single weight 1.86 kg, working temperature -40℃ to +150℃, suitable shaft diameter φ80 mm, used for positioning the drive axle main reducer and gearbox output shaft bearings of SEM 650B/652D/653D/655D loaders and SEM 816D bulldozers, compensating for axial clearance of the shaft system.
Key Dimensions Inner diameter 80.0 mm (3.150 in), outer diameter 105.0 mm (4.134 in), length 65.0 mm (2.559 in), step height 5.0 mm (0.197 in), inner hole roughness Ra≤0.8 μm, outer diameter cylindricity ≤0.015 mm, inner diameter tolerance +0.025/-0.010 mm, outer diameter tolerance +0.015/-0.005 mm, length tolerance ±0.12 mm, step end face runout ≤0.02 mm
Compatible Models and Parts: Compatible with SEM 650B, 652D, 653D, 655D loaders; SEM 816D bulldozers; drive axle main reducer and gearbox output shaft of Cat C4.4 and C6.6 engines, mounted on the inner side of tapered roller bearings, 1 piece per shaft, bearing axial static load ≤18 kN, suitable for medium speed (≤1200 r/min) conditions
Performance Parameters: Tensile strength ≥1080 MPa, yield strength ≥930 MPa, impact toughness ≥60 J/cm², axial preload after assembly 5-8 kN, fatigue cycle resistance ≥8000 hours, compatible bearing model 32216 (tapered roller bearing, inner diameter 80 mm)
Structural and Performance Advantages
42CrMo Material: Heat-treated for high strength and toughness, suitable for heavy-load impact conditions, preventing sleeve deformation or breakage.
Stepped Positioning Design: The steps at both ends precisely fit with the bearing inner ring and shaft shoulder, with an axial positioning error ≤0.03 mm, ensuring uniform bearing preload and reducing vibration and noise.
Oxidized Black Surface: Enhances corrosion resistance, suitable for dusty and humid environments in engineering machinery, extending service life.
Original Factory Precision Manufacturing: Strictly controlled dimensional tolerances, perfectly matching the shaft diameter and bearing inner ring, avoiding tolerance accumulation that could lead to shaft movement and ensuring transmission efficiency.
Installation and Maintenance Points (Original Data)
Installation Procedure: Clean the journal, sleeve, and bearing. Heat the sleeve to 80-100℃. After cooling, install the bearing. Use a dial indicator to check the axial runout; it should be ≤0.02 mm. Ensure the sleeve end face is flush with the bearing inner ring without gap. Tighten the bearing cap bolts to the specified torque (85-95 N·m).
Maintenance Cycle: Every 3000 hours, check the surface condition of the sleeve and the shaft clearance. Replace the sleeve when the clearance exceeds 0.25 mm. Simultaneously check the bearing wear.
Common Troubleshooting: For sleeve wear causing shaft movement, replace the sleeve. For stepped deformation, check for uneven loading during installation; repair the shoulder or replace the journal. For surface rust, clean and apply anti-rust grease; replace immediately if severe rust is present.
