CAT 067-6158 is a Caterpillar genuine connecting rod bushing, adapted for the small end of the connecting rod in Caterpillar 3054/3056 series diesel engines. It provides sliding support, friction reduction, and positioning between the piston pin and connecting rod. The following is raw data only and does not include replacement parts information.
Core Technical Parameters (Raw Data)
Item Details
Basic Attributes
Model 067-6158, Type: Steel-backed aluminum-tin alloy connecting rod bushing (no oil groove/no oil hole), Material: Steel back + AlSn20Cu (aluminum-tin 20 copper), Single weight: 0.085 kg, Operating temperature: -40℃ to +150℃, Allowable specific pressure: ≤150 MPa, Coefficient of friction: ≤0.005 (oil lubrication), Corrosion resistance rating: IP54, Service life: ≥10000 hours, Suitable reciprocating speed: ≤3500 rpm, Suitable radial load: ≤12 kN, No axial load capacity
Key Dimensions
Inner diameter: 42 mm (tolerance H7 +0.025/0 mm), Outer diameter: 52 mm (tolerance g6 0/-0.025 mm), Length: 30 mm (tolerance ±0.10 mm), Wall thickness: 5 mm (tolerance ±0.05 mm), Steel back thickness: 1.2 mm mm, alloy layer thickness 0.3 mm, chamfered ends 1×45°, cylindricity ≤0.015 mm, radial runout ≤0.02 mm, installation interference 0.020-0.040 mm (cold state)
Performance Parameters: Alloy layer hardness HB 25-35, steel backing hardness HRB 80-90, tensile strength ≥300 MPa, elastic modulus 200 GPa, linear expansion coefficient 18×10⁻⁶/℃, break-in time ≤2 hours, wear rate ≤0.001 mm/1000 hours, compatible piston pin diameter 42 mm (f7 tolerance -0.012/-0.025 mm)
Structural and Performance Advantages: Steel-backed aluminum-tin alloy composite structure: The steel backing provides rigidity and support, while the AlSn20Cu alloy layer possesses excellent friction reduction and embedding properties, suitable for high-frequency reciprocating impact conditions in engines.
Precision interference fit: The outer diameter g6 tolerance and the connecting rod small end bore H7 tolerance form a 0.020-0.040 mm interference fit, ensuring no loosening after cold pressing and guaranteeing coaxiality during operation.
Oil groove-free design: Suitable for pressure lubrication systems, oil is supplied through the connecting rod oil passage, avoiding the weakening of alloy layer strength caused by oil grooves, and suitable for heavy-load conditions.
Installation and maintenance points (raw data)
Installation: Clean the connecting rod small end bore (free of oil stains/burrs), cold press installation (pressure ≤30 kN), after press-fit, the inner diameter dimension is 42 mm (H7), cylindricity ≤0.015 mm, heating installation is prohibited (>80℃ will cause the alloy layer to soften), after installation, it is necessary to grind with the piston pin to ensure a clearance of 0.010-0.025 mm.
Maintenance: Check oil pressure every 200 hours (≥200 kPa, idle speed), check oil cleanliness every 500 hours (NAS grade 9 or below), and check bushing wear every 1000 hours (replace if inner diameter wear > 0.15 mm). Avoid engine overspeeding (> 10% of rated speed) and overload (> 15% of rated power).
Troubleshooting: Abnormal noise is often caused by excessive clearance between the bushing and piston pin; replace the bushing and re-grind the piston pin. Burning is often caused by insufficient lubrication; check the oil pump, oil passages, and filter. Uneven wear is often caused by a bent connecting rod; straighten or replace the connecting rod.
