The CAT 9T-2927 is a Caterpillar original axle retaining ring, compatible with the hydraulic pumps, transmissions, and swing mechanisms of Cat 320D/323D excavators and 950H loaders. It is used for axial positioning and preventing detachment of parts on the axle. The following is pure original data and does not include replacement parts information.
Core Technical Parameters (Raw Data)
Item Details
Basic Attributes Model 9T-2927, Type: Shaft Open Elastic Retaining Ring (No Ear/No Groove), Material: 65Mn Spring Steel (Surface Oxidized Black), Single Weight: 0.012 kg, Operating Temperature: -40℃ to +120℃, Allowable Axial Static Load: ≤8 kN, Allowable Axial Dynamic Load: ≤3 kN, Elastic Limit: ≥800 MPa, Tensile Strength: ≥1000 MPa, Hardness: HRC 45-50, Fatigue Life: ≥5000 Assembly Cycles, Corrosion Resistance: IP44, Suitable Shaft Diameter: φ45 mm, No Radial Load Capacity
Key Dimensions Inner Diameter: 42.5 mm (Tolerance: -0.10/-0.20 mm), Outer Diameter: 49 mm (Tolerance: 0/-0.15 mm), Thickness: 1.5 mm (Tolerance: ±0.08 mm), Opening Width: 4 mm (Tolerance: ±0.20 mm), Opening Gap: 2 mm (free state), ring width 3 mm (tolerance ±0.10 mm), chamfer 0.2×45°, flatness ≤0.05 mm, radial runout ≤0.10 mm, mounting groove width 1.6 mm (tolerance +0.10/0 mm), mounting groove depth 1.5 mm (tolerance +0.10/0 mm), groove bottom diameter 45 mm (tolerance h11 0/-0.16 mm)
Performance Parameters: Elastic recovery rate ≥95% (after 100 compressions), shear strength ≥600 MPa, flexural strength ≥900 MPa, impact toughness ≥0.8 J/cm², coefficient of friction ≤0.15 (dry friction), heat resistance temperature ≤200℃ (short-term), assembly tool compatible with φ2 mm elastic retaining ring clamps, axial clearance after installation ≤0.15 mm
Structural and Performance Advantages: 65Mn Spring steel material: High elasticity and toughness, suitable for high-frequency vibration conditions in engineering machinery. Oxidation blackening treatment enhances rust resistance and reduces assembly wear.
Open elastic design: After being pried open with retaining ring pliers, it is inserted into the shaft groove and automatically locks in place upon release, achieving quick positioning without bolt fixation, saving axial space.
Precision dimensional tolerances: The inner diameter and shaft groove clearance is 0.05-0.10 mm, ensuring no looseness after installation and guaranteeing the axial positioning accuracy of the parts, suitable for high-speed rotating shaft systems.
Installation and maintenance points (raw data)
Installation: Clean the shaft groove (free of burrs/oil stains). Use φ2 mm elastic retaining ring pliers to pry open the retaining ring, align it with the shaft groove, and slowly release it, ensuring the retaining ring is fully embedded in the groove bottom. After installation, check that the clearance between the retaining ring and the part end face is ≤0.15 mm. Do not use a hammer to strike during installation (this can easily cause deformation/breakage of the retaining ring).
Maintenance: Check the retaining ring condition every 1000 hours (no deformation/cracks/loosening), replace it every 3000 hours (due to fatigue aging risk), avoid overloading (≤110% of rated load), use special pliers to remove it during disassembly, and do not pry it open to avoid damaging the shaft groove.
Troubleshooting: Retaining ring detachment is often due to groove width/depth exceeding tolerances, requiring shaft groove repair or retaining ring replacement; retaining ring breakage is often due to material fatigue, requiring replacement with original parts and control of assembly cycles; axial movement of parts is often due to excessive clearance, requiring adjustment of groove depth or replacement with a thicker retaining ring.
