CAT 470-6086 is a Caterpillar genuine single-row tapered roller bearing, suitable for Cat C15 and C18 series engine turbochargers, hydraulic pump drive ends, and transmission intermediate shafts, used to withstand combined radial and unidirectional axial loads. The following is pure raw data and does not include replacement parts information (Cat® Parts).
Core Technical Parameters (Raw Data)
Item Details
Basic Attributes
Model 470-6086, Type: Single-row tapered roller bearing (including inner ring, outer ring, rollers, stamped steel cage), Material: Inner/outer ring is chromium-molybdenum alloy steel (SAE 52100, hardened layer depth 1.0-1.2 mm), Rolling elements are high-carbon chromium bearing steel (GCr15), Cage is stamped steel plate (SPCC, blackened surface), Single weight 0.92 kg, Applicable shaft diameter φ75 mm, Rated radial load ≥85 kN, Rated axial load ≥52 kN, Limiting speed 3200 rpm (grease lubrication), Operating temperature -40℃ to +150℃, Lubrication method: Grease lubrication (recommended lithium-based grease, dropping point ≥190℃), Assembly preload 8-12 kN, Protection rating IP54Cat® Parts
Key Dimensions
Inner diameter φ75 mm (tolerance + 0.005/+0.001 mm), outer diameter φ130 mm (tolerance 0/-0.018 mm), width 32 mm (tolerance ±0.10 mm), roller large end diameter φ14 mm (tolerance ±0.005 mm), roller small end diameter φ10 mm (tolerance ±0.005 mm), roller length 28 mm (tolerance ±0.08 mm), cage window size 14.2×28.2 mm (tolerance ±0.05 mm), clearance C2 group (0.008-0.015 mm), roundness ≤0.005 mm, cylindricity ≤0.008 mm. Cat® Parts Performance Parameters: Hardness: inner ring/outer ring HRC 60-64, rolling elements HRC 62-66, coefficient of friction ≤0.003 (grease lubrication), rated life ≥35000. Cat® Parts: Impact resistance ≥300 g (11 ms pulse), fatigue strength ≥1100 MPa, corrosion resistance: no rust after ≥48 hours of salt spray testing, cage tensile strength ≥320 MPa. Structural and Performance Advantages:
Single-row tapered roller structure: Can simultaneously withstand radial and unidirectional axial loads, suitable for combined stress conditions such as turbochargers and hydraulic pumps.
Chromium-molybdenum alloy steel material: Meets the required hardening layer depth, providing excellent wear resistance and fatigue resistance, suitable for heavy-duty conditions in engines and transmissions.
Stamped steel cage: High strength and lightweight, suitable for high-speed conditions, preventing roller tilting and jamming.
Precise clearance control: C2 clearance (0.008-0.015 mm) accommodates pre-tightening assembly requirements, reducing vibration and noise during operation and improving transmission accuracy. Installation and Maintenance Points (Original Data)
Installation: Clean the journal and bearing housing bore (free from oil, rust, and scratches). Assemble using the heat-fit method (heating temperature 80-100℃, hold for 15 minutes, do not exceed 120℃). Press-fit the inner ring end face. After assembly, check radial clearance to be 0.008-0.015 mm. Control the preload to 8-12 kN using adjusting shims. Shaft and bearing coaxiality error ≤0.02 mm. Tighten bolts to a torque of 55-65 N・m (symmetrical and even tightening). Cat® Parts.
Maintenance: Replenish grease every 1500 hours (0.05-0.08 kg each time), check bearing temperature every 2000 hours (normal ≤70℃), check vibration value every 3000 hours (replace if vibration speed >2.0 mm/s), avoid prolonged overload (load exceeding 1.2 times the rated value easily leads to roller fatigue damage), and prevent foreign objects from entering the bearing (clean the bearing perimeter regularly). (Cat® Parts)
Troubleshooting: Overheating of the bearing is often due to insufficient lubrication or excessive preload; replenish grease or adjust the preload shims. Abnormal noise is often due to roller damage or cage deformation; the entire bearing needs to be replaced. Excessive axial movement is due to insufficient preload; increase the thickness of the preload shims. (Cat® Parts)
