CAT 9W-9844 is a Caterpillar genuine steel-backed bronze sleeve bearing, suitable for the connecting pin/sleeve parts of heavy equipment such as bulldozers. The following are raw specifications and do not include replacement parts information.
Core Technical Parameters (Raw Data)
Item Details
Basic Attributes
Model 9W-9844, Type: Straight Sleeve Sleeve Bearing, Material: Steel Back + Bronze Alloy (CuSn8P), Single Weight: 0.72 kg, Suitable for Heavy-Duty Impact and Low-Speed Oscillation, Operating Temperature: -30℃ to +150℃, Protection Rating: IP65, Rated Bearing Pressure ≥250 MPa, Coefficient of Friction ≤0.08 (Oil Lubrication), No Internal/External Grooves or Crossed Oil Holes, Suitable for Cat D8/D9 Bulldozer Lifting Arm Pins, Tilting Cylinder Pins, etc.
Key Dimensions (Metric/Imperial)
Inner Diameter: 57.15 mm (2.25 in, Tolerance +0.02/-0 mm), Outer Diameter: 63.50 mm (2.50 in, Tolerance +0.03/-0 mm), Length: 76.20 mm (3.00 in, Tolerance ±0.1 mm), Wall Thickness: 3.175 mm mm (0.125 in, tolerance ±0.02 mm), end face perpendicularity ≤0.02 mm, inner hole roughness Ra≤0.8 μm
Performance Parameters: Fatigue life ≥10⁶ cycles (200 MPa load), wear resistance ≥5000 hours (oil lubrication condition), steel backing hardness HB 180-220, bronze layer hardness HB 80-100, compatible shaft diameter φ57.15-57.18 mm, installation interference 0.03-0.05 mm
Structural and Performance Advantages:
Composite Material Structure: The steel backing provides high-strength support, while the bronze alloy layer possesses excellent wear resistance and self-lubricating properties, suitable for low-speed, heavy-load, and frequent oscillation conditions, reducing pin wear.
Precise Dimensional Fit: Grooveless design, compatible with pins and mounting holes of specific diameters, interference fit ensures no loosening after installation, guaranteeing equipment operational stability.
Heavy-duty load capacity: Rated load pressure ≥250 MPa, capable of withstanding the heavy load impact during bulldozing operation, extending the service life of pins and bearings.
Strong adaptability: Compatible with key components such as the lifting arm and tilting cylinder of Cat D8, D9, and other bulldozers, precisely matching original pins and mounting holes without additional machining.
Installation and maintenance points (original data)
Installation: Clean the mounting holes and pin surfaces (free of oil, burrs, and rust). Install using cold pressing or hot mounting (hot mounting temperature ≤120℃). After installation, the bearing end face should be flush with the mounting surface, without skewing, and the pin should rotate freely without jamming. The clearance between the bearing and the mounting hole should be ≤0.01 mm.
Maintenance: Check lubrication every 500 hours to ensure sufficient grease between the pin and bearing (Cat HD EP 2 grease recommended); regularly check bearing wear; replace when inner diameter wear exceeds 0.15 mm; for long-term storage, apply rust-preventive oil and seal to prevent moisture.
Troubleshooting: Common faults include bearing wear and pin jamming, which are often caused by insufficient lubrication, improper installation interference, or harsh operating conditions. It is necessary to replace the bearing and check the wear of the pin to ensure installation accuracy and adequate lubrication.
