CAT 510-3684 is a Caterpillar genuine turbocharger spindle oil sling sleeve, compatible with diesel engine turbochargers. It prevents lubricating oil from entering the turbine/compressor end along the spindle, preventing oil and gas leakage and component contamination. The following is pure original data and does not include replacement parts information.
Core Technical Parameters (Raw Data)
Item Details
Basic Attributes
Model 510-3684, Type: Turbocharger mandrel oil sling sleeve, Material: Low alloy high-strength steel, Single weight: 0.18 kg, Suitable operating conditions: Operating temperature -40℃ to +220℃, Suitable speed ≤150000 rpm, Installation clearance 0.05-0.10 mm, Used for turbocharger mandrel sealing to prevent oil from entering the turbine end and causing carbon buildup, and the compressor end and causing intake air contamination (Cat®)…
Key Dimensions (Metric / Imperial)
Inner diameter 38.0 mm (1.496 in, tolerance h7), Outer diameter 45.0 mm (1.772 in, tolerance h6), Total length 22.0 mm (0.866 in, tolerance ±0.10 mm), Step height 3.0 mm, Chamfer at both ends 0.5×45°, Mandrel fit tolerance K6, with a tolerance of H7 for mating with the turbocharger housing.
Performance Parameters: Surface hardening hardness HRC 58-62, tensile strength ≥800 MPa, yield strength ≥650 MPa, wear-resistant coating thickness 0.08-0.12 mm, oil resistance compatible with engine oil, resistant to fuel gas corrosion, rotational runout ≤0.03 mm, able to withstand high-frequency vibration and temperature shock of the turbocharger.
Structure and Fit Characteristics:
Sealing and Leak Prevention: Low-alloy steel base material + surface wear-resistant coating, forming an oil film barrier through precise gap design, using centrifugal force to throw back the oil, preventing oil and gas from entering the turbine/compressor chamber, ensuring turbocharger efficiency and engine combustion quality (Cat®…).
Positioning and Protection: Stepped structure axial positioning oil slinger ring prevents axial movement, avoids friction between the spindle and housing, reduces wear and vibration, and extends the life of the turbocharger spindle and bearings.
Operating Condition Adaptability: Resistant to high temperatures and oil/gas corrosion, suitable for dynamic operating conditions such as engine start-stop and high load, and compatible with turbochargers for Cat C13, C15, C18 series diesel engines.
Installation and Maintenance Points (Original Data)
Installation: Clean the mandrel and sleeve inner bore. Use a special tool to cold press and install the mandrel into the designated position, ensuring the end face fits snugly against the oil slinger ring. Do not strike the sleeve body. After installation, check the radial runout, ensuring it is ≤0.03 mm, and the clearance meets the requirements of 0.05-0.10 mm.
Maintenance: Check for turbocharger oil/gas leakage every 2000 hours. If abnormal oil consumption or blue smoke is found in the exhaust, disassemble and check the sleeve wear. Replace the sleeve simultaneously when replacing the turbocharger bearing to avoid excessive clearance in the old sleeve leading to seal failure.
