CAT 148-7132 is a Caterpillar original axle retaining ring (metal ring), suitable for positioning and locking the shaft ends of excavators, loaders, and other equipment, used to prevent axial movement of components. The following is pure original data and does not include replacement parts information.
Core Technical Parameters (Raw Data)
Item Details
Basic Attributes Model 148-7132, Type: Shaft Elastic Retaining Ring (External Snap Ring), Material: 65Mn Spring Steel (Surface Oxidation Blackening Treatment), Single Weight: 0.12 kg, Operating Temperature: -40℃ to +150℃, Tensile Strength ≥1800 MPa, Elastic Limit ≥1200 MPa, Surface Hardness: HRC 45-50
Key Dimensions (Metric/Imperial): Free Diameter: 85.0 mm (3.35 in), Mounting Shaft Diameter: 80.0 mm (3.15 in), Wire Cross-Section Diameter: 4.0 mm (0.16 in), Groove Diameter: 78.0 mm (3.07 in), Groove Width: 4.2 mm (0.17 in), Opening Gap: 3.5 mm (0.14 in), Radial Thickness: 4.0 mm (0.16 in)
Compatible Models and Parts: Compatible with Excavators For boom pins, stick pins, and cylinder piston rods of 320D, 323D, 326D, and 950H, 962H, and 972H loaders, this product provides anti-migration protection for the shaft ends of pins, including models 207-6055 and 207-6056.
Structural and Performance Characteristics:
Elastic Positioning: Made of 65Mn spring steel with excellent elasticity, the open design allows for quick installation into the shaft end groove, providing stable axial positioning force and preventing component movement during equipment operation (Cat®…).
Wear and Corrosion Resistance: Surface oxidation and blackening treatment enhances wear and corrosion resistance, suitable for harsh working conditions in construction machinery, and resistant to rust and deformation over long-term use (Cat®…).
Lightweight: Lightweight, does not add extra burden to the equipment, requires little installation space, and fits compact shaft end areas.
Installation and Maintenance Points (Original Data)
Installation: Clean the shaft end and groove to remove oil and rust. Ensure the groove dimensions match the diameter and width of the retaining ring wire cross-section.
Use dedicated retaining ring pliers to pry open the retaining ring opening, align it with the groove, and slowly release it, ensuring the retaining ring is fully engaged without looseness or misalignment.
After installation, check the fit between the retaining ring and the shaft end to ensure there is no axial clearance and prevent it from falling off during operation.
Maintenance: Check the condition of the retaining ring every 500 hours. If cracks, deformation, or loss of elasticity are found, replace it immediately.
Avoid striking the retaining ring with hard objects to prevent material damage that could affect its elasticity and positioning performance.
