CAT 5B-2113 is a Caterpillar genuine needle roller bearing (with cage), suitable for high-speed, light-load rotating parts such as engines and transmissions. It is used to support journals and reduce friction. The following are raw specifications and do not include replacement parts information.
Core Technical Parameters (Raw Data)
Item Details
Basic Attributes
Model: 5B-2113, Type: Needle Roller Bearing without Inner Ring (Cage Assembly), Material: GCr15 bearing steel (needle rollers) + 08 steel (stamped cage), Surface Phosphated, Unit Weight: 0.05 kg, Operating Temperature: -40℃ to +120℃, Rated Dynamic Load: 18.5 kN, Rated Static Load: 25.2 kN, Limiting Speed: 8000 rpm

Performance Parameters
Coefficient of Friction: ≤0.002 (Oil Lubrication), Radial Clearance: 0.01-0.02 mm, fatigue life ≥5×10⁶ cycles, suitable for NLGI 2 lithium-based grease or SAE 10W-30 lubricant.
Structure and Compatibility Characteristics
Lightweight and Compact Design: No inner ring structure, directly mates with the journal, saving installation space, suitable for high-speed rotation in confined cavities. The cage is stamped to ensure even distribution of needle rollers and avoid frictional wear.
High-Precision Needle Roller Configuration: GCr15 bearing steel needle rollers are hardened to HRC 60-64, with a surface roughness Ra≤0.08 μm, suitable for high-frequency rotation and impact loads. Phosphated surface enhances rust resistance.
Machine Compatibility: Compatible with camshafts and balance shafts of Caterpillar 3406, 3406C, 3408 engines, as well as the countershaft of some loader and excavator gearboxes, used to support and position the journals, preventing axial movement.
Installation and Maintenance Points (Original Data)
Installation: Clean the journal and bearing housing bore. The journal surface roughness Ra ≤ 0.32 μm and hardness ≥ HRC 58, ensuring no scratches or rust.
Use the cold mounting method (temperature -20℃ to 0℃). Use a special tool to press the bearing into the housing bore, avoiding direct impact to the cage to prevent needle rollers from falling off or the cage from deforming.
After installation, check the bearing end face runout to be ≤ 0.03 mm, ensuring no interference with adjacent components.
Maintenance: Check the bearing condition every 1000 hours. Replace immediately if needle roller wear > 0.1 mm or if the cage is broken or deformed.
Ensure adequate lubrication. For oil lubrication, the oil level should cover 1/2 of the bearing height. For grease lubrication, the filling amount should be 1/3 to 1/2 of the bearing cavity volume.
