Structure and Compatibility Characteristics
Positioning Protection: Ring-shaped retaining ring structure, fixed to the end face of the shaft housing with bolts, precisely positions the oil seal, preventing axial movement of the oil seal under vibration conditions, while blocking dust, mud, and other contaminants from entering the shaft housing, protecting the Cat® lubrication system…
Sealing Synergy: Forms double protection with the oil seal lip; the retaining ring end face fits tightly with the outer ring of the oil seal, reducing oil seal deformation, suitable for high-speed rotation and impact conditions of heavy-duty axles, improving the reliability of the sealing system.
Heavy-Duty Compatibility: Alloy steel material and heat treatment, possessing high rigidity and impact resistance, suitable for loaders, excavators, and other construction machinery axles, withstanding vibration and impact loads during travel and operation.
Compatible Models and Application Scenarios
Axle System: Cat 9F and 9G series drive axles, compatible with the front/rear drive axles of 320GC and 336GC excavators, 966M and 972M loaders, and 140M graders (Cat®…).
Application Scenarios: Used to secure the oil seal at the output end of the axle housing, ensuring lubrication of the axle wheel hub bearings, preventing oil leakage and contaminant intrusion, and ensuring stable operation of the transmission system during heavy-duty operations.
Installation and Maintenance Points (Original Data)
Installation: Clean the axle housing end face and retaining ring, ensuring the surface is free of oil and burrs. Before installation, check the flatness and coaxiality of the retaining ring; do not use if outside tolerances are found.
Insert the oil seal into the retaining ring positioning groove, with the lip facing inwards from the axle housing. Tighten the bolts evenly (torque 18-22 N・m) to prevent retaining ring deformation. After installation, check the fit between the oil seal lip and the shaft.
Add NLGI 2 lithium-based grease and run for 10-15 minutes, checking for leaks and abnormal noise.
Maintenance: Every 2500 hours, check the torque of the retaining ring bolts. Tighten any loose bolts immediately. Inspect the retaining ring for cracks and deformation; replace any faulty rings immediately.
Regularly check the wear of the oil seal lip and replace it at the same time as the retaining ring to avoid sealing failure caused by replacing the oil seal alone.
