CAT 102-0740 is a Caterpillar genuine single-row deep groove ball bearing, suitable for light to medium load high-speed support components in engine accessories, hydraulic pumps, and small transmission mechanisms. The following is pure raw data and does not include replacement parts information for Cat®…

Core Technical Parameters (Raw Data)

Item Details
Basic Attributes Model 102-0740, Type Single Row Deep Groove Ball Bearing, Material GCr15 Bearing Steel (Integral Hardening), Single Weight 0.42 kg, Operating Temperature -40℃ to +120℃, Rated Dynamic Load 72 kN, Rated Static Load 48 kN, Limiting Speed 6500 rpm, Lubrication Method Grease Lubrication/Oil Lubrication, Fit Tolerance P0 Grade, Corrosion Resistance IP65, Seal Type ZZ (Iron Cap Seal)

Key Dimensions (Metric/Imperial) Inner Diameter 60 mm (2.362 in), Outer Diameter 110 mm (4.331 in), Width 22 mm (0.866 in), Number of Balls 12, Ball Diameter 14 mm, Chamfer Size 1 mm, Clearance Range C2 Grade (0.01-0.025 mm), Inner Ring Radial Runout ≤0.012 mm, outer ring radial runout ≤0.018 mm

Performance Parameters: Surface hardness HRC 60-64, core hardness HRC 28-32, ball roundness ≤0.001 mm, cage material Nylon 66, coefficient of friction ≤0.0015 (lubricated state), impact load ≤200 kN, applicable vibration frequency 5-800 Hz

Structure and Adaptability Characteristics:

High-speed adaptation optimization: The deep groove ball structure can simultaneously withstand radial loads and bidirectional micro axial loads, suitable for high-speed rotating components such as engine fans and hydraulic pumps. The nylon cage reduces high-speed operating noise and friction loss (Cat®…).

Sealed protection design: The ZZ iron cap seal effectively prevents dust and moisture intrusion, suitable for dusty outdoor conditions, extending bearing life and eliminating the need for frequent grease replenishment.

Easy installation: The inner and outer rings are inseparable; no clearance adjustment is required during installation, simply press-fit. Suitable for batch assembly and quick replacement scenarios, improving maintenance efficiency.

Compatible Models and Application Scenarios

Engine Accessories: Support for fan pulleys, generators, air conditioning compressors, and other accessories in C7.1 and C9.3 series engines, providing stable support for high-speed rotating components (Cat®…).

Hydraulic Systems: Input shaft support for small hydraulic pumps (such as gear pumps and vane pumps), meeting the power transmission needs of medium and low-pressure hydraulic systems and ensuring efficient pump operation (Cat®…).

Transmission Mechanisms: Intermediate shaft support for small gearboxes and transfer cases, used in light-load, high-speed transmission components to reduce shaft vibration and wear.

Installation and Maintenance Points (Original Data)

Installation: Clean the bearings and mounting seats, ensuring they are free of oil and metal shavings. Check that the bearing seals are undamaged, and that the steel balls are free of rust and jamming. Ensure the inner ring has an interference fit (interference 0.005-0.01 mm) and the outer ring has a transition fit.

Install using the cold-press method. Do not strike the bearing end face. After installation, tighten the bearing end cap bolts (torque 25-35 N·m). Run for 10-15 minutes, monitoring the temperature to ≤70℃ and ensuring no abnormal noise.

For grease lubrication, add NLGI 2 lithium-based grease (filling 1/3-1/2 of the bearing space). For oil lubrication, maintain the oil level at the center of the lowest rolling element.

Maintenance: Check the bearing’s operating condition every 2500 hours, monitoring temperature, vibration, and abnormal noise. Sealed bearings do not require additional grease; replace any damaged seals immediately.

Avoid contact between the bearing and acids, alkalis, and corrosive substances to prevent seal failure and bearing corrosion, which could affect performance.
