The CAT 7G-9573 is a Caterpillar genuine 3126 series engine piston. It is a one-piece aluminum alloy piston, compatible with 3126B and 3126E diesel engines, used in construction machinery, heavy-duty trucks, and other equipment to convert combustion energy into mechanical power. The following are the original factory specifications and application information; replacement parts are not included.
Core Technical Parameters
Item Details
Part Model: CAT 7G-9573 (Integral Aluminum Alloy Piston, Direct Injection Recessed Top Design)
Material: Top: ZL109 high-strength cast aluminum alloy (copper and nickel reinforced), hardness HB 120-140; Skirt: ZL106 aluminum alloy, surface graphite coating for friction reduction, coefficient of thermal expansion 23×10⁻⁶/℃
Key Dimensions: Cylinder bore 105.00 mm (4.134 in), compression height 59.20 mm, overall height 196.85 mm, piston pin bore diameter 40.00 mm, pin bore center distance from top 59.20 mm, maximum skirt outer diameter 104.95 mm (cold state)
Performance Parameters: Compression ratio 16.5:1, maximum burst pressure 18 MPa, operating temperature -30℃ to +300℃, skirt graphite coating friction coefficient ≤ 0.12, Top heat resistance temperature ≥ 350℃
Single weight: Approx. 1.28 kg (2.822 lbs)
Tolerances: Cylinder bore tolerance +0.020/-0.010 mm, Pin hole tolerance H6 (+0.016/0 mm), Compression rise tolerance ±0.10 mm, Skirt roundness ≤ 0.02 mm
Core Features: Wear-resistant and heat-resistant top, graphite coating on the skirt to reduce friction and prevent seizing, one-piece molding without welds, suitable for high-load conditions of the 3126 engine, high heat dissipation efficiency
Structure and Core Functions: Direct injection recess top: Optimizes air-fuel mixture formation in the combustion chamber, improves combustion efficiency, reduces emissions, suitable for high-pressure common rail fuel systems.
One-piece skirt: ZL106 aluminum alloy with graphite coating, reduces friction with cylinder walls, suitable for high-speed engine conditions (up to 2800 rpm), reduces wear and noise.
Piston pin bore design: The inner bore surface is rolled to a roughness Ra ≤ 0.08 μm, suitable for floating piston pins. Snap rings at both ends of the pin bore prevent dislodgement and withstand reciprocating and lateral loads.
Ring groove configuration: 3 compression ring grooves + 1 oil ring groove. The compression ring groove surface is nitrided to a hardness of HV 800-1000, improving wear resistance and preventing blow-by and oil burning caused by ring groove wear.
Compatible models and application scenarios:
Compatible equipment: CAT 3126B and 3126E diesel engines, commonly found in Caterpillar 924G and 930G loaders, 725 articulated trucks, and some Kenworth and Peterbilt heavy-duty trucks.
Core application: Installed inside the cylinder liner, connected to the crankshaft via connecting rods, it converts the pressure generated by fuel combustion into crankshaft rotational power while sealing the cylinder to prevent fuel leakage and oil from entering the combustion chamber. Suitable for heavy-duty, continuous operation in construction sites and transportation scenarios.
