CAT 369-1558 is a Caterpillar original equipment manufacturer (OEM) upper bushing, primarily used on the upper hinge joints of the boom, stick, or connecting rod of loaders, excavators, and other equipment. As a critical wear-resistant support component, it reduces friction and wear at the hinge points, is suitable for heavy-duty and high-frequency oscillating conditions, and ensures stable operation of the equipment. The following is key information.

Core Technical Parameters

Item Details
Part Model: CAT 369-1558 (Integral Upper Bushing, Single Piece)

Material: Steel backing + copper-lead alloy/bronze composite layer, surface PTFE self-lubricating coating, coefficient of friction ≤0.15; steel backing thickness ≥3mm, composite layer thickness 0.8-1.2mm, wear life ≥5000 working hours

Key Dimensions: Inner diameter approx. 76.2mm (3.0in), outer diameter approx. 88.9mm (3.5in), total length approx. 63.5mm (2.5in), chamfered ends 3×45°, compatible with φ76.2mm pin

Single Weight: Approx. 0.9kg (2.0 lbs)

Compatible Models: CAT 966K/972K loaders, 326D/330D excavators, D7E bulldozers, etc., boom upper articulation, stick – Boom Connection and Connecting Rod Upper Support Section

Performance Characteristics: Rated radial load ≥80kN, allowable swing angle ±12°, operating temperature -30℃ to +110℃, suitable for harsh working conditions such as dust and mud, oil-free self-lubricating, reducing maintenance frequency.

Structure and Core Functions

Wear Resistance and Friction Reduction: Steel backing – copper-lead alloy/bronze composite structure with PTFE coating, resulting in a lower coefficient of friction than ordinary steel bushings. It effectively reduces friction even in oil-free or low-oil conditions, preventing jamming at the hinge and improving operational smoothness.

Heavy-Duty Support: The steel backing provides high-strength support, and the composite layer absorbs impact and vibration, preventing bushing deformation or cracking under heavy loads, ensuring the stability of the hinge structure, and extending the service life of pins and trunnions (such as 5V-5845).

Positioning and Guiding: Precise inner and outer diameter dimensions and chamfered ends facilitate installation and ensure coaxiality with pins and trunnions, preventing increased clearance and abnormal noise caused by misalignment during movement.

Self-lubricating and maintenance-free: The PTFE coating has self-lubricating properties, reducing grease usage and making it suitable for parts where frequent grease application is difficult, thus lowering maintenance costs and downtime.

Suitable Scenarios and Installation & Maintenance Points

Suitable Scenarios: Used for articulated parts such as the upper part of the boom and stick of construction machinery. Suitable for heavy-duty, high-frequency swinging and dusty/muddy working conditions in mining, infrastructure, etc., ensuring reliable operation of the articulated structure.

Installation Specifications: Clean the mounting hole and bushing surface, ensuring no burrs, oil, or rust. The mounting hole and bushing should have an interference fit (0.03-0.06mm), using cold pressing or heat installation (heating the mounting seat to 80-100℃). Do not forcefully hammer, as this may deform the bushing or damage the coating.

After installation, use with the corresponding pin, ensuring full contact between the bushing and the pin. Tighten the fixing bolts to the torque specified in the equipment manual (typically 180-220 N·m). Maintenance Recommendations:

Inspect the bushing condition every 600 working hours. Replace it immediately if the inner diameter wear exceeds 0.2mm, the surface coating peels off, or cracks appear to prevent increased hinge clearance and component damage.

Regularly check the hinge seals to prevent dust and mud from entering the bushing, which can affect its self-lubricating effect and service life.

For long-term storage, apply a small amount of anti-rust grease to prevent surface corrosion and ensure assembly accuracy.
