The CAT 115-1422 is a Caterpillar genuine single-row tapered roller bearing, suitable for power transmission systems such as engines and gearboxes. It is used to withstand combined radial and bidirectional axial loads, ensuring stable operation and precise positioning of transmission components. It is a critical bearing component under heavy-duty conditions.
Core Technical Parameters
Item Details
Part Model: CAT 115-1422 Single Row Tapered Roller Bearing (including inner ring, outer ring, rollers, and cage)
Material: Inner/outer rings are high-carbon chromium alloy steel (chromium content 1.5% – 2%), rollers are bearing steel (GCr15), surface hardened to HRC 60-64, cage is stamped steel plate/brass, wear-resistant and fatigue-resistant
Key Dimensions: Inner diameter approx. 40-60mm, outer diameter approx. 80-100mm, width approx. 20-30mm, weight approx. 0.5-1.5kg (subject to actual product/manual)
Compatible Models: Engines C13/C15, gearboxes AT1200/AT1800, loaders 980K, excavators 349D, etc., used for crankshaft, camshaft, differential, and driveshaft support
Performance Characteristics High load-bearing capacity suitable for heavy-duty and impact conditions; low coefficient of friction; precise preload control for axial clearance; suitable for medium- and high-speed operation; temperature range -30℃ to 120℃.
Core Functions and Structure
Combined Load Bearing: Simultaneously withstands radial and bidirectional axial loads, suitable for components such as engine crankshafts and gearbox output shafts subjected to both radial and axial forces, ensuring stable power transmission.
Precise Axial Positioning: Axial clearance is controlled through preload design to prevent axial movement of transmission components, ensuring gear meshing accuracy and transmission efficiency, and reducing noise and vibration.
High-Efficiency Friction Reduction and Heat Dissipation: Roller-raceway line contact results in a low coefficient of friction. Combined with grease/oil lubrication, wear and heat generation are reduced, making it suitable for medium- and high-speed operation.
Stable and Durable Structure: Separable inner/outer rings facilitate installation and maintenance. The cage evenly distributes rollers, preventing roller misalignment and contact, extending bearing life.
Installation and Maintenance Points
Installation Specifications: Clean the bearing, journal, and bearing housing to remove oil, rust, and impurities. Check that the journal and bearing housing dimensions, roundness, and surface roughness are within acceptable limits.
Use hot mounting (heat the bearing to 80-100℃) or cold pressing processes for installation. Do not directly strike the bearing. Install according to the preload requirements in the manual, controlling the axial clearance to 0.02-0.05mm.
After installation, add the specified grease (such as extreme pressure lithium-based grease) or lubricating oil to ensure adequate lubrication. Select the appropriate lubrication method for the operating conditions.
Maintenance Recommendations: Every 1000-1500 working hours, check for abnormal noise, overheating, and leakage in the bearing. Check if the axial/radial clearance exceeds the limit (radial clearance > 0.1mm requires replacement).
Replace the grease/oil regularly, adjusting the replacement cycle according to operating conditions to prevent lubrication failure from causing accelerated bearing wear or burning.
