CAT 586-1783 is a Caterpillar genuine YM Locating Bearing, suitable for the connecting rods, rocker arms, or hydraulic cylinder articulation points of skid steer loaders, mini loaders, and other equipment. Its core function is to precisely position the articulation pin, while simultaneously bearing radial loads and slight oscillating loads, ensuring stable and non-motorized operation of the working device. It is a key positioning component for improving the operational accuracy of the equipment.
Core Technical Parameters
Item Details
Part Model: CAT 586-1783 YM Positioning Bearing
Material: Composite material of steel back + bronze alloy layer + PTFE self-lubricating layer. High-strength steel back provides load bearing capacity, bronze layer provides shock absorption, and PTFE layer enables oil-free self-lubrication, suitable for high-frequency oscillation conditions.
Key Dimensions: Inner diameter approx. 45mm, outer diameter approx. 60mm, length approx. 38mm, positioning step height 5mm. Compatible with YM series positioning pins. Installation clearance controlled within 0.05-0.10mm.
Compatible Models: Commonly compatible with 242D/246D/252D skid steer loaders, 906M/907M mini loaders, 303.5E2 compact excavators, etc., used for bucket linkage, boom and cylinder hinge points.
Performance Characteristics: Self-lubricating and maintenance-free, compatible with ±12° High sway angle, resistant to harsh working conditions of hydraulic oil and construction machinery, high positioning accuracy, effectively prevents axial movement of the pin, and reduces wear and noise at the hinge joint.
Core Functions and Structure
Precise Positioning: The bearing has a positioning step, which can axially fix the pin after installation, avoiding component misalignment caused by pin movement during operation, and ensuring the precise operation of the bucket, boom, and other working devices.
Optimized Swing Friction: The PTFE self-lubricating layer significantly reduces the coefficient of friction between the pin and the bearing, adapting to the high-frequency swaying requirements of the hinge joint, reducing movement resistance and component wear, and eliminating the need for additional grease.
Load Bearing and Protection: The steel-backed bronze layer can stably withstand radial and impact loads, preventing bearing deformation; the material is resistant to hydraulic oil corrosion and can resist the intrusion of outdoor dust, mud, and other impurities, extending service life.
Installation and Maintenance Points
Installation Specifications: Clean the mounting holes and pin surface to remove oil, rust, and impurities. Check the fit accuracy between the bearing positioning step and the mounting hole to ensure reliable positioning.
Cold-press installation is used. Use specialized tooling to press the bearing into the mounting hole. Never strike it directly with a hammer to prevent separation of the steel backing from the bronze layer.
After installation, check the axial movement of the pin (should be <0.10mm) to ensure free movement without jamming. Tighten the bolts to the torque specified in the machine manual (usually 35-45 N·m).
Maintenance Recommendations: Every 200-300 working hours, check for bearing looseness and wear, and for abnormal noises or jamming at the hinge. Replace the bearing immediately if the bearing clearance is >0.20mm or if scratches or peeling appear on the surface.
Regularly clean the hinge area to remove dirt, gravel, and other impurities. No additional lubrication is required; the self-lubricating layer is sufficient for operating conditions.
