The CAT 6V-1861 is a genuine Caterpillar single-row deep groove ball bearing, suitable for hydraulic pumps, gearboxes, or drive axles in equipment such as small loaders and skid steer loaders. It is used for radial load bearing under low to medium speed conditions, and can also withstand slight bidirectional axial loads, ensuring smooth component operation.

Cat® 6V-1861 Core Technical Parameters

Item Details
Part Model: CAT 6V-1861 Single Row Deep Groove Ball Bearing

Material: Bearing steel (SAE 52100), hardened, raceway surface hardness HRC 60-64, cage made of stamped steel plate

Key Dimensions: Inner diameter 35mm, outer diameter 72mm, width 17mm, chamfer radius r≈1.2mm, radial clearance C3 grade

Compatible Models: Commonly compatible with Caterpillar 242D and 246D skid steer loaders, 906M and 907M mini loaders, and some 303.5E2 compact excavators (hydraulic pumps, gearbox input shafts, etc.)

Performance Characteristics Deep groove ball bearings can withstand radial loads and slight bidirectional axial loads. With a low coefficient of friction, they are suitable for low-to-medium speed, low-noise operating conditions. Optional sealing structures protect against dust and moisture intrusion.

Core Functions and Structure

Radial Load Bearing: The raceway design of deep groove ball bearings efficiently transmits radial loads, adapting to the radial force requirements of components such as hydraulic pumps and gearboxes, ensuring stable equipment operation.

Low Friction and Smooth Operation: The bearing steel material and precision-machined raceways reduce friction loss. A stamped steel cage guides the even distribution of steel balls, reducing operating noise and vibration, and improving equipment operating comfort.

Protection and Adaptability: Optional sealing structures prevent external impurities from entering the bearing, avoiding wear on the raceways and steel balls, making them suitable for outdoor operating environments and extending bearing life.

Installation and Maintenance Points
Installation Specifications: Before installation, clean the bearing mounting seat and journal surface to remove oil, rust, and impurities; check the bearing for scratches and deformation, ensuring the mounting surface is flat to avoid uneven bearing load after installation.

Cold-press installation is used. Use specialized tooling to press the bearing into the mounting base or journal. Do not directly strike the bearing end face with a hammer to prevent raceway deformation or damage to the steel balls.

After installation, check the fit clearance between the bearing and the journal/mounting base to ensure there is no jamming. Control the bolt tightening torque according to the machine manual to prevent loosening.

Maintenance Recommendations: Every 1000-1500 working hours, check the bearing for abnormal noise, increased vibration, or abnormal temperature rise. If any abnormalities are found, disassemble and inspect immediately. If the raceway shows signs of peeling, pitting, or other damage, replace the bearing immediately.

Regularly change the equipment’s grease/oil to ensure adequate bearing lubrication. Use lithium-based grease suitable for the operating conditions. For oil lubrication, control the oil level and cleanliness to prevent impurities from entering and accelerating wear.
