CAT 3J-1905 is a Caterpillar original equipment manufacturer (OEM) positioning/bushel type small-size sleeve, commonly used in hydraulic line joints, pin positioning, or small-diameter bushing parts of forklifts, mini loaders, and other equipment. It serves for positioning, wear protection, and clearance compensation, and is compatible with the hydraulic systems or transmission mechanisms of CAT TOWMOTOR forklifts and some Mitsubishi cooperative models.
Core Technical Parameters
Item Details
Part Model CAT 3J-1905 Positioning Sleeve
Material Low carbon steel (such as Q235 or 1045 steel), surface galvanized and passivated, rust prevention level reaches 48h salt spray test with no white rust, some batches are stainless steel (304), suitable for humid conditions
Key Dimensions Inner diameter approx. 8mm, outer diameter approx. 12mm, length approx. 15mm (small precision sleeve), tolerance grade IT8, suitable for 8mm diameter pins/jerseys, used for small gap positioning scenarios
Suitable Scenarios Hydraulic pipeline connector inner liner, pin anti-wear sleeve, small bearing positioning ring, or used for filling gaps in mounting seats for fixing small components such as sensors and solenoid valves
Performance Characteristics Weight approx. 0.01kg, simple structure, easy installation, oil resistant and temperature resistant (-20℃ to (100℃), suitable for low-pressure (≤10MPa) hydraulic systems and mild vibration conditions.
Core Functions and Structure
Positioning and Limiting: As a small-sized sleeve, it is used for precise positioning of pins, bearings, or pipe joints, limiting axial displacement of components, preventing positional deviation due to vibration, and ensuring assembly accuracy.
Wear-resistant Protection: Sleeves over the surface of pins or journals to reduce direct friction between components, lower the wear rate, and extend the service life of pins and mating parts, especially suitable for small mechanisms with frequent movement.
Clearance Compensation: Fills the tiny gaps between the mounting base and components, eliminating looseness, reducing vibration transmission, improving equipment operating stability, and facilitating disassembly and maintenance.
Suitable for Small Equipment: Its small size is suitable for compact equipment such as forklifts and small loaders, meeting the needs of hydraulic systems and transmission mechanisms for small-sized positioning components.
Installation and Maintenance Points
Installation Specifications
Clean the installation area, remove oil and impurities, and check that the sleeve is free from deformation, cracks, or surface rust, and that its dimensions meet assembly requirements.
Use a cold-fitting method, gently pressing the sleeve into the mounting base with a special tool. Do not strike the sleeve end face to prevent deformation. After installation, check that the sleeve and pin/journal fit tightly without looseness, and the coaxiality deviation is ≤0.1mm.
After installation, apply a small amount of grease to reduce friction and prevent rust, especially in humid environments where the rust-preventive coating should be checked regularly.
Maintenance Recommendations: Check the sleeve every 1500 working hours for wear, deformation, or looseness. Replace it immediately if any abnormalities are found to prevent increased friction between components due to sleeve failure.
Regularly clean the sleeve surface and keep it dry to prevent long-term corrosion from salt spray and oil, which can affect the rust-preventive effect.
