CAT 6N-1856 is a Caterpillar original high-strength steel-backed composite bushing, suitable for heavy-duty parts such as pin joints, connecting rods, and rocker arms of excavators, loaders, and other equipment. It is used for sliding support, positioning, and vibration damping under low-speed, heavy-load conditions, and is compatible with the boom, stick, or frame articulation points of Cat® machines such as the 320D/336D and 950H.
Core Technical Parameters
Item Details
Part Model: CAT 6N-1856 Composite Bushing
Material: Steel backing + bronze alloy layer + PTFE self-lubricating anti-friction layer; Steel backing hardness: HB 200-240; Bronze layer hardness: HB 80-100; PTFE layer friction coefficient ≤0.06; Oil and temperature resistance: -40℃ to 120℃; Rust-free after 72h salt spray test; Suitable for mineral oil/synthetic oil lubrication (Cat®)…
Key Dimensions: Inner diameter 50mm, outer diameter 58mm, length 45mm, wall thickness 4mm, radial clearance 0.02-0.03mm; Suitable for 50mm pins; seat hole diameter 58mm; tolerance: IT7; end face perpendicularity ≤0.01mm
Compatible Models: Compatible with 320D/323D/336D This product is used in excavators, 950H/962H loaders, 430F2 loaders, etc., for boom pin bushings, stick connecting rod bushings, frame articulation bushings, rocker arm support bushings, etc.
Performance Characteristics: Composite layer self-lubricating, suitable for low-speed heavy loads ≤3m/s; steel backing for impact resistance; bronze layer for friction reduction; PTFE layer for wear resistance; absorbs vibration, buffers impact, reduces wear on pins and bearings, and extends component life (Cat®…).
Core Functions and Structure:
Heavy-duty sliding support: Provides stable sliding support for pins, limits radial displacement, ensures the motion accuracy of articulated parts, and prevents eccentric jamming and abnormal wear.
Self-lubricating friction reduction: The PTFE friction-reducing layer reduces friction loss, reduces reliance on lubrication, is suitable for oil-free/low-oil operating conditions, and reduces maintenance costs.
Vibration damping and buffering: The bronze layer and steel backing work together to absorb vibration and buffer impact, suitable for frequent start-stop and load fluctuation conditions in construction machinery, protecting pins and bearings.
Clearance Compensation: Reasonable radial clearance compensates for installation errors and thermal expansion, preventing jamming due to excessive clearance or excessive vibration, ensuring stable operation.
Installation and Maintenance Points
Installation Specifications: Clean the seat hole and bushing surface to remove oil, rust, and impurities; check the bushing for cracks, deformation, and peeling of the anti-friction layer.
Cold installation or use a special tool to evenly press the bushing into the seat hole; do not strike the end face; after installation, the coaxiality deviation should be ≤0.05mm, and the fit with the pin should be flexible and without jamming; the radial clearance should meet the requirement of 0.02-0.03mm.
Apply a small amount of lithium-based grease during installation to enhance initial lubrication and improve smooth operation.
Maintenance Recommendations: Check every 1000 working hours: for wear, loosening, and peeling of the anti-friction layer on the bushing; measure the inner diameter wear; replace immediately if it exceeds 0.1mm to avoid excessive clearance affecting accuracy.
Regularly check the seals to prevent dust and impurities from entering, and ensure good lubrication of the pin to reduce abnormal bushing wear.
