The CAT 7W-2510 is a Caterpillar genuine connecting rod piston pin bushing, compatible with 3054/3056 series engines. It connects the piston and connecting rod at the piston pin joint, providing sliding support for the piston pin, reducing friction and wear, ensuring smooth engine reciprocating motion, and is suitable for medium-to-high speed, high-temperature, and high-pressure operating conditions.

Core Technical Parameters

Item Details
Part Model: CAT 7W-2510 Piston Pin Bushing

Material: High-tin bronze (CuSn10Pb10), containing solid lubricant, suitable for engine oil lubrication, operating temperature -20℃ to 150℃, operating pressure ≤30MPa, linear velocity ≤8m/s, hardness HB 100-120

Key Dimensions: Inner diameter approx. 38.1mm (1.5 inches), outer diameter approx. 44.45mm, length approx. 41.28mm, wall thickness 3.175mm, straight cut, butt joint with serrated structure, suitable for piston pin tolerance h6, connecting rod bushing bore tolerance H7, clearance 0.02-0.04mm

Compatible Models: Compatible with 3054, 3054B, 3054T, 3056, 3056B, 3056T Engine connecting rod piston pin connection part used in small excavators, loaders, generator sets, and other equipment.

Performance Characteristics: High-tin bronze material reduces friction and wear; serrated structure facilitates press-fit positioning; straight-cut design adapts to thermal expansion and contraction; suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure engine conditions; ensures stable connection between piston pin and connecting rod; reduces wear during reciprocating motion; extends engine component life.

Core Functions and Structure:

Sliding Support and Positioning: As the sliding contact component between the piston pin and the small end of the connecting rod, it supports the smooth rotation of the piston pin within the small end of the connecting rod, ensuring coordination between piston reciprocating motion and connecting rod oscillation, avoiding wear caused by direct contact between the piston pin and the small end of the connecting rod.

Friction Reduction and Heat Dissipation: The bronze material contains solid lubricant, which forms an oil film with engine oil, reducing the coefficient of friction and carrying away heat generated by reciprocating motion, preventing bushing deformation and accelerated wear due to high temperatures.

Structural Adaptability: The straight-cut and serrated structure facilitates positioning and press-fit during installation, adapts to thermal expansion and contraction during engine operation, ensures stable fit clearance, and avoids jamming or looseness.

Installation and Maintenance Points

Installation Specifications: Clean the piston pin, connecting rod small end bore, and bushing to remove oil and impurities. Inspect the bushing for cracks, deformation, and surface scoring. Measure the dimensions of the piston pin and connecting rod small end bore to ensure a clearance of 0.02-0.04mm.

Use a dedicated pressing tool to press the bushing into the connecting rod small end bore, ensuring the serrated structure is aligned. Do not directly strike the bushing. After installation, check that the bushing end face is flush with the connecting rod small end bore end face, without any misalignment.

Apply clean engine oil after installation. Ensure adequate lubrication when assembling the piston pin to avoid dry friction.

Maintenance Recommendations: Every 2000 working hours, check: engine oil pressure, oil cleanliness, exhaust color, and engine noise. If abnormal oil pressure, oil burning, or unusual noises occur, promptly check the bushing wear.

When the clearance between the bushing and the piston pin exceeds 0.08mm, or when the bushing surface shows severe scoring or cracks, it must be replaced. When replacing, it is recommended to check the wear of the piston pin and the small end bore of the connecting rod at the same time.
