The CAT 2P-6588 is a genuine Caterpillar hydraulic quick-connect adapter head, used for converting different interface specifications in the hydraulic circuits of construction machinery. It is compatible with CAT 320D/330D excavators, 950G/966G loaders, and other models. It can connect hydraulic hoses to actuators, enabling quick, sealed connection and disconnection of hydraulic lines, ensuring efficient operation of the Cat® hydraulic system…
Core Technical Parameters
Item Details
Part Model: CAT 2P-6588 Hydraulic Quick Coupling Adapter Head, Original Part Number 2P6588, no official direct replacement model. For non-original parts, refer to the same specification Cat®…
Material: Body is 4140 alloy steel, quenched and tempered, hardness HRC 32-38, surface galvanized and passivated for corrosion resistance; seal is nitrile rubber (NBR), oil resistant, temperature resistant from -40℃ to 120℃, suitable for mineral oil hydraulic oils.
Key Dimensions: Compatible with 1/2-inch NPT external thread interface, hexagonal head size 24mm (for easy wrench operation), compatible quick coupling inner diameter 15mm, outer diameter 22mm, length 45mm, sealing groove diameter 18mm, sealing cross-section diameter 2.5mm
Compatible Models: CAT 320D/330D excavators, 950G/966G loaders, D6R/D7R This bulldozer tool features quick-connect couplings for boom cylinders, stick cylinders, and bucket cylinders, as well as interface adapters for hydraulic accessories (such as breakers and hydraulic shears) compatible with Cat®…
Performance Features: The alloy steel body withstands high pressure, up to 35MPa. NBR seals ensure leak-free operation. Quick-connect couplings allow for rapid insertion and removal, improving equipment maintenance and operational efficiency. It is compatible with various hydraulic oil types, offering strong versatility.
Core Functions and Structure:
Interface Conversion: Connects different specifications of hydraulic quick-connect couplings and oil pipes, resolving interface mismatch issues in hydraulic circuits. It adapts to 1/2-inch NPT threads and corresponding quick-connect couplings, enabling quick connection and disconnection of oil circuits using Cat®…
Leak-Proof Sealing: The nitrile rubber seals fit tightly into the inner bore of the quick-connect coupling, forming a reliable seal under high pressure to prevent hydraulic oil leakage, ensuring stable hydraulic system pressure, and reducing energy consumption and environmental pollution.
Easy Operation: The hexagonal head design facilitates easy installation and removal with a wrench. It adapts to quick-connect couplings for rapid insertion and removal, allowing for tool-free oil circuit connections. This improves equipment maintenance and operational efficiency, meeting the rapid operation needs of harsh field conditions.
Installation and Maintenance Points
Installation Specifications: Clean the adapter head threads, sealing grooves, and quick-connect coupling interface to remove oil, metal shavings, and impurities. Check for damage or deformation of the seals and ensure the mounting surface is flat.
Apply a small amount of thread sealant (such as Loctite 567) to the threads and tighten evenly with a wrench, controlling the torque to 25-30 N·m to avoid thread stripping or seal damage.
After installation, perform a pressure test at 35 MPa for 5 minutes. Check for leaks to ensure the oil circuit is unobstructed and free of blockages.
Maintenance Recommendations: Every 500 working hours, check: the adapter head for looseness, threads for damage, and seals for aging or leakage. If seals are aged or leaking, replace them immediately; if threads are damaged, replace the adapter head.
For long-term storage, the seals should be coated with anti-rust oil to prevent corrosion, and the adapter head should be placed in a dry and ventilated environment to avoid moisture and rust.
