CAT 379-0188 is a genuine Caterpillar final drive sleeve bearing, suitable for the drive shaft/planetary carrier section of the final drive in tracked equipment. Its core function is to support the rotating shaft, reduce friction, withstand radial loads, prevent radial runout of the shaft system, and ensure efficient and stable operation of the final drive (Cat®…).
Core Technical Parameters
Item Details
Part Model: CAT 379-0188 Final Drive Sleeve Bearing, Original Part Number 3790188, a general-duty part suitable for medium to light load conditions, no official direct replacement Cat®…
Material: Alloy steel base material, copper/tin alloy plated on the inner bore surface, hardened, surface hardness HRC 58-62, inner bore roughness Ra≤0.1μm, wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant, suitable for humid and dusty conditions.
Key Dimensions: Inner diameter 50mm, outer diameter 70mm, length 45mm, chamfered ends 1×45°, inner bore with spiral oil groove for easy grease storage and distribution, suitable for corresponding drive shafts and bearing housings.
Compatible Machines: CAT 320D/336D excavators, D6R/D7R bulldozers, 966H Used in loaders and other applications for supporting the final drive shaft and bearing housings of planetary gear carriers, bearing radial loads and minor impacts.
Performance Characteristics: Rated radial load 80kN, operating temperature -30℃ to 110℃, limiting speed 2000r/min; internal oil groove design ensures sufficient lubrication and reduces friction and wear.
Core Functions and Structure:
Radial Load Bearing: The sleeve bearing design adapts to the radial force conditions of the final drive shaft system, supporting the rotation of the drive shaft and preventing bending deformation of the shaft system due to radial forces, ensuring transmission accuracy.
Friction Reduction and Lubrication: The internal spiral oil groove stores and evenly distributes grease, forming an oil film to reduce friction and prevent contaminants from entering the bearing clearance, extending component life.
Positioning and Protection: The interference fit with the shaft and bearing housing achieves precise positioning of the shaft system, suppressing radial movement and vibration, reducing noise, and protecting internal gears and other components of the final drive.
Installation and Maintenance Points
Installation Specifications: Clean the surfaces of the bearing, shaft, and bearing housing to remove oil and metal shavings. Check the bearing for cracks and internal bore damage, ensuring the shaft and bearing housing fit tolerances meet requirements (interference 0.01-0.02mm).
Use cold or hot fitting methods (heating temperature 80-100℃) for installation. Avoid impacts that could deform the bearing. After installation, check the bearing end face runout to be ≤0.03mm to ensure coaxiality.
After installation, add CAT-specific lithium-based grease, ensuring the oil groove is full to prevent dry friction.
Maintenance Recommendations:
Every 1000 working hours, check for abnormal noises, excessive temperature rise, and grease leakage. If the internal bore is worn or the clearance is greater than 0.15mm, replace the bearing immediately.
Regularly clean impurities around the bearing, replenish grease, maintain good final drive sealing, and prevent water and dust from entering and causing abnormal bearing wear.
