CAT 584-1347 (5841347) is an alloy steel inner ring (YM indicates quality, representing a high wear-resistant precision inner ring) suitable for CAT heavy-duty tapered roller bearings. It is commonly used in the final drive or gearbox of loaders and bulldozers. The following is the core information:
Core Technical Parameters
Item Details
Part Model: CAT 584-1347 (5841347) Tapered Roller Bearing Inner Ring (YM designation, suitable for bearing assemblies such as 352-4929)
Core Material: Bearing-grade alloy carburized steel (SAE 52100), surface carburized and quenched, hardened layer depth 1.2–1.6 mm, hardness HRC 60–64, raceway Ra≤0.4 μm, excellent fatigue resistance and wear resistance
Key Dimensions: Inner diameter 140 mm, outer diameter 175 mm, width 35 mm, raceway cone angle 12°, suitable journal diameter 140 mm mm (tolerance h6, 0–-0.035 mm), taper with outer ring 1:12, installation interference 0.015–0.030 mm
Single weight: Approx. 3.2 kg
Compatible models: CAT 980K/982M loaders (final drive), D10T/D10R bulldozers (gearbox axle 2), 966M loaders (drive axle differential), used for transmission parts bearing combined radial and bidirectional axial loads
Operating fit: Maximum radial load 220 kN, limiting speed 2800 rpm, operating temperature -30℃ to +150℃, compatible with extreme pressure lithium-based grease (NLGI 2)
Core functions and structural features: Carburized hardened raceway: The raceway is ultra-precision ground, with a contact fatigue life ≥10⁶ stress cycles, suitable for heavy-duty impact conditions, inhibiting spalling and wear.
Conical positioning structure: A 12° cone angle precisely matches the outer ring, automatically centering after installation to ensure uniform roller contact and reduce localized stress concentration.
Interference fit fixing: The inner diameter interferes with the journal by 0.015–0.030 mm, ensuring torque transmission without slippage, guaranteeing transmission accuracy, and reducing vibration and noise.
High-precision end faces: The parallelism of both end faces is ≤0.01 mm, closely fitting the bearing cage end face to prevent roller misalignment and extend bearing assembly life.
Installation and maintenance points:
Installation specifications: Clean the journal and inner ring. The journal surface Ra≤0.8 μm, free of scratches and burrs, tolerance h6 (0–-0.035 mm), hardness HRC≥58.
Heat the inner ring (≤120℃) or cold press the journal for assembly. Use a sleeve to press firmly against the inner ring end face, applying force evenly to ensure the inner ring and shaft shoulder are tightly fitted without gaps. Interference amount 0.015–0.030 mm.
After assembly, mate and install with the outer ring and roller assembly, adjusting the preload to the specified torque (refer to the model manual), and add extreme pressure lithium-based grease (filling amount is 1/3–1/2 of the bearing’s internal space).
Maintenance Recommendations: Every 1000 working hours, check for wear, spalling, and burning of the inner ring raceway; replace immediately if the inner diameter clearance is >0.05 mm. Simultaneously check for journal wear (>0.02 mm requires repair).
When replacing, prioritize original parts or YM certified parts, ensuring material, dimensional accuracy, and surface treatment meet standards to avoid confusion with similar inner rings such as 584-1348.
Simultaneously check the lubrication system, cleaning the channels to prevent impurities from entering the bearing and causing abnormal wear.
