CAT 383-2108 (3832108) is a Caterpillar original equipment manufacturer (OEM) general-purpose (GD) sleeve bearing, suitable for transmission, drive axle, and other drivetrain pivot parts. The following is precise information (no additional description):
Core Parameters and Information
Item Details
Part Model: CAT 383-2108 GD Sleeve Bearing
Part Type: Straight sleeve bearing, used in transmission gear shafts, drive axle pivots, steering knuckle pins, etc., bearing radial loads, suitable for low-speed rotation and oscillating motion.
Material: Base: Low-carbon alloy steel plate; Liner: Copper-lead alloy (CuPb10Sn10), tin-plated surface for enhanced wear resistance and anti-galling properties.
Key Dimensions: Inner diameter 38.10 mm, outer diameter 50.80 mm, length 25.40 mm, wall thickness 6.35 mm, clearance 0.02-0.05 mm
Structural Features Flangeless straight-cylinder design, smooth inner wall without oil grooves, lubricated by a lubricating oil film, suitable for low-speed conditions with rotation speed ≤500 rpm.
Suitable Structures: Loader gearbox second axle support, excavator slewing gearbox planetary gear bushing, grader steering knuckle pin sleeve, road roller drive axle pivot bushing.
Applicable Working Conditions: Suitable for the pivot part of the transmission system in light to medium loads (radial load ≤30 kN) and low-speed rotation (≤500 rpm) at temperatures from -20℃ to 120℃.
Suitable Models:
CAT 966D/E/F/F II Loader (Gearbox second axle sleeve bearing)
CAT 815B Road Roller (Drive axle pivot sleeve bearing)
CAT 140G Grader (Steering knuckle pin sleeve bearing)
CAT 315 Excavator (Slewing gearbox planetary gear bushing)
Installation and Fitting Points: Mounting hole diameter 50.80-50.85 mm, pivot diameter… 38.05-38.10 mm, the bearing and bore/shaft have a transition fit, with no looseness.
Install using cold pressing or hot fitting (heating to 80-100℃). Direct hammering is prohibited to prevent liner detachment and cylinder wall deformation.
Before installation, clean the mounting hole and pivot, ensuring no burrs, metal shavings, or oil stains. Check that the bearing inner bore is smooth and free of scratches, and the end face is flat.
After installation, the bearing end face is flush with the mounting surface, radial runout ≤0.03 mm, rotation is smooth, and the lubrication path is unobstructed.
Forced lubrication is required. SAE 80W-90 gear oil is recommended. Check the oil level and bearing wear every 1500 working hours.
