CAT 8G-2395 (8G2395) is a Caterpillar original flexible retaining ring (external retaining ring) used for axial positioning of shaft ends. The following is purely precise information (no additional description):

Core Parameters and Information

Item Details
Part Model: CAT 8G-2395 External Retaining Ring (Flexible Retaining Ring)

Part Type: Shaft Flexible Retaining Ring (External Retaining Ring), used for axial positioning of shaft ends, preventing axial movement of bearings, gears, and other parts. Suitable for axial limiting and fixing of various mechanical shaft systems.

Material: 65Mn spring steel, surface treated with black oxide coating, hardness HRC42-48, good elasticity and toughness, suitable for operating conditions from -40℃ to 120℃.

Key Dimensions: Shaft diameter: 65 mm (2.5591 in), Inner diameter: 63.80 mm (2.5118 in), Outer diameter: 75.00 mm (2.9528 in), Thickness: 2.00 mm (0.0787 in), Opening width: 4.00 mm (0.1575 in), opening clearance 1.20 mm (0.0472 in)

Structural Features: Single-opening circular ring, earless design, axial fixation achieved by elastically engaging with the annular groove on the shaft. After installation, it fits tightly with the groove without loosening. Compatible with standard shaft retaining ring grooves (groove diameter 65 mm, groove width 2.10 mm).

Compatible Structures: Loader gearbox output shaft bearing retaining ring, excavator swing motor shaft end retaining ring, grader drive axle half-shaft retaining ring, road roller vibratory shaft bearing retaining ring.

Applicable Working Conditions: Suitable for static and dynamic axial loads ≤5 kN, without strong impact conditions. Used to fix bearings, gears, pulleys, etc., preventing axial movement and ensuring stable shaft system operation.

Compatible Models and Assemblies:

Loaders: CAT 950GC, 966M (gearbox output shaft bearing assembly, drive axle half-shaft retaining ring assembly)
Excavators: CAT 320GC, 330GC (Slewing motor shaft end retaining ring assembly, boom cylinder head bearing retaining ring assembly)
Gradeers: CAT 140M, 160M (Drive axle half-shaft retaining ring assembly, steering cylinder support bearing retaining ring assembly)
Road Rollers: CAT CS74B, CS78B (Vibration shaft bearing retaining ring assembly, travel drive shaft retaining ring assembly)
Compatible Assemblies: 950GC gearbox output shaft bearing assembly, 320GC slewing motor shaft end retaining ring assembly, 140M drive axle half-shaft retaining ring assembly
Installation and Fitting Points: The retaining ring should be interference-fitted to the shaft groove with an interference allowance of 0.10-0.20 mm. Use retaining ring pliers to pry it open and then insert it into the groove. Do not strike the retaining ring to prevent deformation or breakage.

Before installation, clean the shaft groove, ensuring it is free of burrs, oil, and rust. Inspect the retaining ring for cracks, deformation, good elasticity, and undamaged openings.

After installation, the end face of the retaining ring fits snugly against the end face of the part, with axial movement ≤0.05 mm. Operation is smooth without jamming or abnormal noise, and there is no risk of the retaining ring falling off.

When disassembling, use special retaining ring pliers to pry open the retaining ring and remove it gently. Do not pry it forcefully to avoid damaging the retaining ring and shaft groove. Before reuse, check the elasticity and surface condition; replace if it does not meet requirements.
