Installation and Fitting Points
The connecting rod big end bore should be clean and free of burrs. The bearing shell should be free of deformation and scratches. The locating lip should match the connecting rod locating groove. Do not strike the edge of the bearing shell.
Before installation, check that the bearing shell plating is free of peeling, the oil hole is aligned with the connecting rod oil passage, the journal-bearing shell clearance is 0.020-0.030mm, and the surface roughness Ra≤0.8μm.
Tighten the connecting rod bolts to the specified torque (85-95 N·m), tightening them in three crisscrossing stages. After assembly, the connecting rod should swing smoothly without jamming or abnormal noise.
Use a special tool to press out the connecting rod bolts during disassembly. Do not pry the bearing shells. When replacing bearing shells, replace all 6 shells as a set, ensuring consistent clearance.
