CAT 054-4003 is a Caterpillar genuine hydraulic pump/transmission input shaft oil retainer ring (pure original factory information, no additional description). It is compatible with the 352-0618 high-pressure axial piston pump and 9T-5942 transmission input shaft end of the C7/C9 engine. It prevents hydraulic oil/gear oil leakage along the shaft end, isolates the lubrication chamber from the external environment, and forms a double seal with the skeleton oil seal, ensuring lubrication system pressure and oil cleanliness.
Core Parameters and Information
Item Details
Part Model: CAT 054-4003 (0544003) Oil Baffle Ring
Type: Metal stamped rolled edge type, with centrifugal oil return groove + positioning step, radial seal for shaft + axial oil baffle, anti-rotation stop groove
Material: Q235 carbon steel, surface galvanized passivation + impregnation treatment, oil and temperature resistant, hardness HB180-200, deformation resistant, weight 0.065 kg
Key Dimensions: Inner diameter 42 mm, outer diameter 58 mm, thickness 6.5 mm, oil return groove depth 1.2 mm, positioning step height 2.0 mm, stop groove width 3.0 mm, suitable shaft diameter 42 mm
Operating Parameters: Suitable working pressure ≤0.8 MPa, temperature resistance -30℃ ~ +110℃, suitable shaft speed ≤3000 rpm
Installation Method Press-fitted into the shaft end positioning groove, the stop pin is embedded in the anti-rotation groove and fits against the end face of the skeleton oil seal (such as 179-7400), ensuring coaxiality ≤0.05 mm. Compatible Models and Assemblies:
Compatible Parts: 179-7400 skeleton oil seal, 054-3939 retainer, 352-0618 main pump assembly, 9T-5942 gearbox input shaft
Compatible Equipment: CAT 320D/323D/329D excavators, 950H/966H loaders, D6R/D7R bulldozers, etc., equipped with C7/C9 engines.
Matching Parts: 054-4003 oil retainer ring, 179-7400 oil seal, 053-6530 bearing, 053-6531… Bearing Retaining Ring Installation and Maintenance Points: Before installation, clean the shaft end locating groove and the inner hole of the oil retainer ring, ensuring there are no burrs or oil stains. Check the oil retainer ring for deformation, edge damage, and that the retaining groove is intact.
Use a dedicated pressing tool to smoothly press the ring into the shaft end, ensuring the locating step fits snugly against the shaft shoulder and the retaining pin is fully embedded in the anti-rotation groove without circumferential movement.
Install coaxially with the skeleton oil seal, controlling the end face clearance to 0.1-0.3 mm to avoid frictional heat generation.
Maintenance: Every 1500 working hours, check the sealing surface for wear and ensure the oil return groove is unobstructed. Replace the seal if leakage or deformation is observed to prevent oil leakage from causing lubrication failure.
