Clean the camshaft journal and retainer ring mounting groove, checking for burrs and scratches on the groove walls, and ensuring the retainer ring is free from deformation, cracks, and peeling of the galvanized layer.

Use dedicated retainer ring pliers (075-2346) to open the retainer ring and insert it into the corresponding groove on the camshaft, ensuring the retainer ring is fully embedded without looseness or misalignment.

After installation, check that the camshaft axial runout is ≤0.05 mm, rotation is smooth without jamming or abnormal noise, and the clearance between the retainer ring and the bearing assembly end face is 0.01-0.03 mm.

Maintenance: Check the retainer ring’s elasticity and wear every 3000 hours (replace when radial wear is ≥0.2 mm). Avoid high temperatures and oil contamination that could cause elasticity loss. Change the engine oil regularly to prevent corrosion.
