Installation and Maintenance Points:
Clean the mounting surface of the retainer and the tappet assembly. Check the retainer for deformation and cracks, ensure the locating pin holes are unworn, and that the guide grooves are smooth and burr-free.

Insert the locating pins, align the retainer with the mounting surface, insert the bolts, and tighten them in a crisscross pattern to the specified preload, ensuring a tight fit between the retainer and the tappet assembly.

After installation, check that the tappet reciprocates smoothly without jamming, the camshaft rotates without interference, the contact pressure between the tappet and the camshaft is uniform, and the fuel pump operates without abnormal noise or leakage.
