CAT 077-3814 is a genuine Caterpillar locking ring (pure original factory information, no additional description). It is a flexible locking ring (external clamp type) for shafts, compatible with shaft components in CAT engineering machinery. It is used for axial positioning and anti-loosening, preventing axial movement of parts during operation or under stress, ensuring stable operation of Cat® components…
Core Parameters and Information
Item Details

Compatibility Standard: Complies with CAT retaining ring technical specifications, dimensional accuracy IT9 grade, surface roughness Ra≤1.6 μm (Cat®) …Compatible Models and Assemblies
Compatible Parts: Various shafts, bearings, bushings, and other components requiring axial positioning.
Compatible Equipment: CAT 320D2/323D2 excavators, 966M/972M loaders, D6T bulldozers, etc., used for axial positioning of shaft components such as gearboxes, hydraulic pumps, and travel mechanisms.
Installation: 1-2 pieces depending on the model and location. Install in the shaft groove to prevent axial movement of parts.
Installation and Maintenance Points
Clean the shaft groove and locking ring. Check the locking ring for deformation, cracks, gaps, normal elasticity, and intact clamp holes.
Use shaft retaining ring pliers to pry open the locking ring and insert it into the shaft groove, ensuring it is fully engaged at the bottom of the groove and fits snugly against the end face of the part without gaps.
After installation, check that the axial movement of the part is ≤0.03 mm, and that it operates smoothly without jamming or abnormal noise.
Maintenance: Check the elasticity and installation condition of the lock ring every 2000 hours. Replace it immediately if deformation, loss of elasticity, or breakage occurs to prevent parts from shifting and causing damage.
