CAT 077-6815 is a Caterpillar genuine shaft retainer (purely genuine and accurate information, no additional description), used for shaft positioning in hydraulic or transmission systems, suitable for vibration conditions, and often used in conjunction with 077-6194 bearings and 077-6361 retaining rings.
Core Parameters and Information
Item Details
Part Model: CAT 077-6815 (0776815) Circlip
Structure Type: Shaft-mounted elastic retaining ring, open type, with mounting groove, blackened surface for corrosion protection
Material: 65Mn spring steel, quenching hardness HRC 42-48, blackened surface, salt spray test ≥48 h, thickness tolerance ±0.02 mm
Key Dimensions: Inner diameter 120 mm, outer diameter 135 mm, thickness 3 mm, opening width 8 mm, mounting groove diameter 125 mm, groove width 3.2 mm, chamfer 1×45°
Performance Parameters: Axial load ≥18 kN, radial runout ≤0.05 mm, flatness ≤0.03 mm, axial movement after assembly ≤0.05 mm
Compatibility Standard: Complies with CAT retaining ring specifications, dimensional tolerance GB/T 894.1 – 7 grade, surface roughness Ra≤1.6 μm, hardness conforms to SAE J403. Fitting relationship: Embedded in the mounting groove on the shaft, positioning the bearing inner ring and preventing axial movement. It mates with the 077-6361 retaining ring to form bidirectional axial positioning.
Compatible models and application scenarios:
Compatible parts: Matches 077-6194 tapered roller bearings, 077-6361 bearing retaining rings, and 077-6071 bushings. Used in gearbox input shafts, hydraulic pump drive shafts, drive axle half shafts, etc., to position the bearing inner ring and limit axial displacement.
Compatible equipment: CAT 349D2/352 excavators, 988K loaders, D8T bulldozers, 777 mining trucks, etc., suitable for heavy-load vibration conditions in transmission systems.
Installation: One piece per bearing, embedded in the shaft groove, fitting snugly against the bearing inner ring end face, relying on elastic fixation, no bolts required.
Installation and Maintenance Points:
Clean the retainer and shaft groove, checking for deformation, cracks, and rust. Measure the inner diameter, thickness, and shaft groove dimensions to ensure tolerance matching.
Use special snap ring pliers to pry open the opening, insert the snap ring into the mounting groove on the shaft, and release it. It will automatically spring back and lock in place. Check for a tight fit with the bearing inner ring without gaps.
After installation, rotate the bearing. It should rotate freely without jamming. Axial runout ≤ 0.05 mm, radial runout ≤ 0.08 mm, and there should be no abnormal noise.
Maintenance: Check elasticity and wear every 1000 hours. Replace if deformation, rust, or wear > 0.1 mm is observed. Use special tools for disassembly; do not pry forcefully to avoid breakage.
