CAT 081-7729 is a Caterpillar genuine single-lip dust scraper ring (0817729) for hydraulic cylinders in construction machinery. It is compatible with 306E2/307E2 excavators and 226B3/236B3 skid steer loaders. It is used to clean the outer surface of the cylinder piston rod, preventing dust, sand, and other contaminants from entering the cylinder, protecting internal seals, and is suitable for dusty and vibrating working conditions, extending the cylinder’s service life (Cat®…).

Application Scenarios: Suitable for dusty, sandy, and vibrating working conditions, such as during excavator operation when the piston rod extends and retracts for cleaning, preventing contaminants from causing seal wear and leakage, and ensuring the stability of the hydraulic system.

Compatible with: It is used with the main seal and guide ring. After installation, the lip fits tightly against the piston rod, providing excellent dust scraping performance without jamming.

Installation and Maintenance Points:

Installation: Clean the dustproof groove of the cylinder head, checking for burrs and scratches on the groove surface; use a special tool to press the dust scraper ring into the groove, ensuring the lip faces outwards, is coaxial with the piston rod, and is free from twisting or misalignment.

Maintenance: Check the dust scraper ring lip for wear, tear, and aging every 200 hours, and replace it promptly if any problems are found; avoid contact with sharp parts to prevent scratching the lip.

Replacement: When disassembling the old part, check for wear on the dustproof groove. Install the new part in the original position, ensuring that the lip has good elasticity and fits tightly with the piston rod without gaps.
